Gertenius, create sereval posts:
One for transmissions updates
other for btpd
other for the torrent
and another to the installer, this is getting a bit fuzzy

Done, beta3 is also available there.
Fixed the above mentioned problem as well.

Heya all,

Busy days, updated beta packages to transmission beta 5.
Some speed enhancements are added, quote: "Beta 5 fixes the connectivity and performance regressions reported against beta 4. It also adds support for the "Partial Seeds" BitTorrent Enhancement Proposal (BEP), partial support for the "Fast Extension" BEP, and adds a few troubleshooting help messages to the RPC server."

Install using new install tool or via first post method.
Hello everyone! Big Grin

Im kemosabe from Portugal and this is my first post - i didnt see any presentation topic...

I just recently bought a NMT, egreat 31b and im still learning how to configure it.

I had a little hard time doing the initial configurations because im a bit stiff with this kind of gadgets. Angle

I already saw a couple of movies in my NMT that i had downloaded from my pc but now i want to learn how to grab torrents from my NMT.

My english is a bit pour but i think i need this kind of software (transmission 1,40 final) to do so.

I tried to installed it in my NMT but something went wrong...

Ill try to explain:

1- I downloaded the program from the link in the first page and unzipped it and inserted it in my usb pen drive. Meanwhile I changed the name of the file "installer.cgi" to "site chomd 755 installer.cgi" the first time and the second time to "quote SITE CHMOF 755 installer.cgi".

2- The i inserted the pen i my nmt and tried to install opening the file inside the usb A-1. The file "install transmission 140" and on both tries it opened a message saying it couldnt do my request.

What am i doing wrong?
Can this be done in another way? Conecting my laptop directly into the nmt?

Thanks!

(Sorry for my poor english).

1.First things first, you will need to have your computer and your nmt in a network. meaning have them both connected to a router so that you can have access thru the ftp.
2. you will need an ftp client like cuteftp or filezilla. this is because you will need to send a comand line thru the ftp
3. Download and unzip the file and transfer the files (defaultsettings.json, installer.cgi, transmission.png, transmission.tar, and transmission-installer.html, to the root directory of the ftp
4. you will need to send the command line "site chmod 755 installer.cgi" you do this by looking at your ftp client and look for the enter command or something like that (in filezilla which i use its in server, then raw ftp command. or just by clicking ctrl+f)
if youve done it correctly theres a message on th screen that says permission changed/granted or something like that.
5. After that just go to your Popcorn Hour and select your local hard disc. Click on the 4th icon, run the install-transmission-140.html file and then follow the instructions there

If this doesn't work for you i dont know anymore, i'm sure there are other ways around this, but this is what i did.
Hi, i am using Transmission 1.41 beta5. I have an data server (on the same network as Popcorn) with big storage space on it. Is there any chance to download torrents directly to server? I tried changing download directory in web interface but not works for me. (no such file or diretory) Thanks for reply.

Thank you for link but still doesnt work. I mapped that data server through NETWORK SHARE in SETUP and then I tried to change the download directory to : "/opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/qnap/private". It downloaded about 20kB (probably only cashed on internal HDD) and then Transmission crashes and i cant get on it until start/stop torrent app in NMT applications again..
Nice work m8! Will complement the webui nicely!
Downgraded to 1.40 FINAL, setted folder to : /opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/NETWORK_SHARE/qnap/test and it works! Wink also thanks for Remote GUI!

Well first i donwloaded filezilla but i cant connect my laptop to the NMT.
Dont know what i am doing wrong...
I inserted my laptop ip in the host box, "nmt" in the user, 1234 as password and port 21 (automaticly appeared when i pushed quickconnect). And then apperars the message "Connected with 192...Waitng for welcome message" and then "Disconnect form server; Unable to connect".
The laptop and the nmt are connected by a ethernet cable...
Thanks.
