Try disabling it and the re-enabling it in the setup screen and see if that fixes it?
Mine was disabled then somehow started working again?
I've just successfully installed the 1.5beta3 version of Transmission. When I connect via telnet and run "top" command, I see the process "gaya" is using 10% of CPU even when bittorrent is turned off. As far as I know Gaya is an Interface of Transmission optimized to be be used in the TV. I'm not going to use such interface so I want to avoid Gaya to be started automatically. How can I prevent it to be started?
If you stop gaya then you will have a nice blank screen
gaya is the built in tv screen gui that comes with the NMT. Its the first thing you see when you boot up, and shows you Home, setup page etc A gaya interface for transmission just means it is able to also show a html page on the TV via gaya. (which only understands a small subset of HTML/CSS/Javascript).
The Gaya screen saver draws about 10% cpu so putting NMT in standby should sort that out.

Thanks, ydrol. I thought Gaya was part of Transmission. The 10% CPU usage was then due to the screen saver.

Actually I've downloaded the bz2 file. But looks like it was some kind of flags problem, I've checkouted the trunk and still got same error, but managed to overcome thet with some flags magic. Not sure which one particularily caused that, I'm struggling with unresolved -lcrypto symbols now

I will post all environment and configure options when will compile transmission without any manual Makefile correction...

Good it works now. I don't modify the makefile as well. I just made sure the CFLAGS, LDFLAGS etc were setup correctly. It's a pain to get it going. Please create a new thread for build related issues and findings. Trying to keep this thread on-topic and prevent all kinds of compile problem questions in this thread when you post build instructions.
Sorry to tell you that torrent download is very very slow and not stable at all.
every one or two seconds the download rate change to zero and return to something above zero.
In utorrent the donwloads stable and very high.
any idea ??
I think it doesn't really matter what it reports as an instant speed. Leave it for an hour and see how much it have downloaded.
experiencing the same here: 1.50b2 was much more stable and faster than b3 - speaking of which - ger teunis, can you put b2 back on your page? thanks, bry
Having the same problems with beta 3, very erratic speeds and bad (low) upload speeds.
It would be great if you could upload beta 2 again. It was the best transmission so far.
edit:thank you for your hard work
which version stable 1.42 or 1.59b3 ?
First i installed the 1.42 final and the speed is jumping up and down.
Installed 1.53 beta and its the same issue there..
Why is it like that? My download speed peaked at 1.5MB/s with the transmission
With btpd i get speeds up to 6-7MB/S and overload the PCH i guess cause it always crashes and i have to reset..
I want to download with my full capacity without crashing the PCH. (100 mbit)
Fix that please!

PCH itself is able to transfer at most 50 megabits per second, so you'll never get 100

LOL... well I can say with some confidence that you'll never touch 100Mbit with the PCH. It's got a teeny tiny CPU and would never keep up with that. I'd say 1.5MB/sec is huge... you probably also mean Mb, not MB... 1.5MB (megabytes) == 12Mb (megabits).
I have found 1.42 final to be the most stable Transmission version. I believe that 1.50 betas are much faster... which is actually a problem (I can't keep them from crashing my PCH). I don't believe the I/O subsystem on the PCH can keep up at this point.
