I have found 1.42 final to be the most stable Transmission version. I believe that 1.50 betas are much faster... which is actually a problem (I can't keep them from crashing my PCH). I don't believe the I/O subsystem on the PCH can keep up at this point.
I mean MB Megabyte not bit.
With btpd i download with speeds up to 6-7 MB/s for a little while then it crashes..
I thought maby transmission would work better, it hasnt crashed yet but then download speed in comparison with btpd is slow also.
Dont be jealous..
i installed 1.42 and 1.50b3 version but a few time later my pch freeze.what is the problem ?

Wow!! I have the last firwmare with transmission 1.50b3 and the average speed is 50kb/s
When i have btpd, the average speed was 200-250kb/s
why???
My impressions from Transmission 1.50b3 - fast, up to 12 Mbit/s (1,5 to 1,8Mb/s). But, still unstable. Downloaded about couple of hours, 3 torrents 12Gb each, but had no luck, nmt crashed, and began to verify the torrents. Then I rebooted, and let it verify and download in the night. Today woke up, checked nmt - hung up! What is wrong with transmission? When will we get a stable release?
I'm impressed by the speeds you people get, I feel lucky if I'm over 10kb/s on a 4mbit connection. Before the new firmware/apps I downloaded at good speeds but since the "upgrade" it's been rediculous. I've tried all the different types of Transmission available (1.40, 1.42 and 1.50) but they all suck. Is there any way I could go back to using the old version?
My experience with Bit torrent in PCH is the following:
- First started with BitTorrent in a PC with a lot of options
- Then moved to the BTPD included inthe PCH, which did work, but didn't had too many options, but it worked. Some times was stopped, othes I soppose checking, etc, but at least the PC was not turned on.
- Then moved to the Transmission 1.22 with some more options and also more info. It was slow and the speed was not constat, which I solved with a limit upload and download.
- After that I'm ussing this version 1.42 saving the dowloaded files to a external USB, which is faster than 1.22.
In my personal opinion I'm quite happy with the global system of the PCH and have to thanks these people who is giving us the option to use the 1.42 in PCH till syabas wants to update the internal cliente in the PCH.
Of course that a PC client of BT will go faster, maybe is because has more resourses, more ports, etc.
If we want speed in a car we need more power in the motor and of course more petrol and maybe we get more noise. I think we are missing what the PCH is, how small is and what is mainly for (watch video).
I had seen other small boxes running Linux (with transmission) and they give more problems than PCH.
Things are changing since the begining and we should be positive from my point of view

hi ger teunis - is there any way that you could put back the 1.50b2 back on your server - that so far was the best working version for me... can't roll back though, as I installed it via your community software installer (<- great tool btw, thanks!). many thanks! bry
Hi Bryson, I don't have that version anymore but I should be able to rebuild that one.
I'll create a new b2 release for those who want to use that one soon.

1.50b3 is running pretty stable for me. Using remote GUI and having no problems downloading 3 big files (10 to 70Gb) and watching HD material from internal HDD simultaneously. Now running for about 24hours without freezes! Great job, Ger Teunis!
perfect, many thanks! bry
Hi,
I would like to know how put the url "http://localhost.drives:8883/HARD_DISK/transmission-nmt/index.cgi" on editor service. I can't do the underscore with my remote control...
Is there a file on PCH where this setting is ?
Thanks a lot,
Marc.

Maybe it's a syntax problem? I seem to get good results running "renice -n 19" (Transmission 1.50b3). Before, I had trouble getting the PCH display 'back' from standby. Now it works - still downloading full speed when CPU is available...
Bye,

PS My first post here, yippee...
Transmission 1.50 beta 4
Is ready for you to try on my download page, enjoy!

This version stable ?
I personally never had any stability issues, some people do.
The latest releases seem to download and upload also very well here, also not seem by every one.
Hope it works out for others as well.
