Hi, well I have PH for almost a year and never had any problems with freezing. Unfortunatelly I decided to install transmission ver. 1.4+ and after then my PH regurarly freezes. It looks like this: when I unplug and plug again the power cord everything works fine. Torrent is running, DL and UL are not dead. But after a day the blue light starts shining all the time and PH is not responding. I'm using older FW so maybe it's that, I will try to upgrade to the newest firmware but if anyone had the same issues please write how to eliminate.
Two questions:

1) Where do I set the down/upload ratio? (what's the default btw)

2) Download is ok, upload is 0. In the settings file I have set peer port to 50001 (and forwarded in in router of course) and disabled "random" did I do something wrong here?

1. You can't set it yet, not supported.
2. If you edit the settings file make sure you have disabled transmission first, wait a long time and then edit the file (file will be overwritten on close of transmission). Don't think you did anything wrong.

I have to say, i am VERY happy with the 1.51 release in combination with the new firmware. The BT-Support was one of the main reasons to buy the PCH (in conjunction with mkv/1080p support of course), and after some problems with the old client versions/firmware its runnin quite well now. Great work Ger Teunis !

- No more Freezes, no needed reboots after 5 days of power using with new FW/new TM
- CPU load is under control
- Download/Upload Speed is absolutly utorrent-like, no complaints at all
- Web GUI and Transmission GUI via PC steady and responsive (i dont need the popcorn gui at all)

Only thing that would be really nice to have is automatic unraring. i found various scripts for nzbget and the original TM on this forum, is there any script-based solution worth trying out for transmission 1.51 yet ?
Is there any way to associate .torrent files with Transmission? When I click on a link to the .torrent file on some web page dialog windows appears and ask me if I want to download this torrent. But when I select OK I see a error - Bit torrent is not running.

At the moment there isn't a good solution yet. In the next version I will add an patch which allow script be run after download. When that patch is added I suggest using the great unpak.sh from lordy|ydrol.
You can't directly 'use' the torrent while downloading.
1. You can download the torrent and upload it again in transmission webui.
2. Copy the torrent's URL and use that to add a torrent in transmission-gui.

A good alternative is "transmission-gui", available elswhere on these forums.

Talking of the patch that allows scripts to run after download, I think I also heard some talk of finally implementing the 'move torrent' functionality, and including this in the WebUI - so you can easily move the physical file location of a torrent without having to stop it, move it, repoint transmission using something other than the webUI and then wait for it to verify the data in its new location.

Combined with the ability to do scripted stuff 'on download' this covers the neat function already in lots of torrent clients to download data to one place, or with an extra extension, and only move it or rename it to somewhere/something visible once it is done. It'd be neat to only have stuff show in the gaya file list when it was ready to play!

Nice to see Transmission is still developing at a fair old pace, and it's great to have someone keeping us NMT users supplied with the latest builds!
How many transfers do you usually run?
What is the width of your Internet connection?
Does the number of active transfers influence on playing of HD video?
What model of hard disk do you use in PCH?

I make a lot of question because I see rather different behavior of my PCH: frequent freezing and impossibility to play HD video while Transmission is running. So I’m seeking of non-mystic reason of the difference.

Thx, it works now. What's the standard ratio now then? Or will it just go on with seeding? Is there an other programm that can controll this for transmission?
There is no default ratio, share forever Smile
I have got problem when I installed latest firmware release 01-17-090125-15-POP-403 (NMT 00-17-090115-15-POP-403) then I tried to install transmission 1.51, the PCH rejected me to install transmission 1.51, is there any one got the same problem? so, I could not access torrent via remote transmission GUI. What sould I do? new FW does not support TR 1.51, right?

Oefff that's not logically for a torrent client I would say. Get's me kicked off sites where max share is 1.5. Is there a adiitional programm to manage this or should I just use an other client?

I am using GUI but there is many people that don't want to use a computer to upload the torrents. It is much easier for them to bookmark a torrent site, browse to the .torrent link and select it for dowloading. That was possible before with the older BIt-torrent. May be Syabas mux fix something and to associate .torrent links with the new torrent client.
1.51 is working very very well for me. Much better than older versions.

Now, i dont miss btpd, thank for your efforts, Ger Teunis.

As i understand it the .torrent files were associated with btpd in previous firmware versions and this was changed to associate them with transmission in the latest version. However, I'd imagine this association is specifically to Transmission 1.22, and so won't work once you've upgraded to 1.51 - in the same way as the gaya interface used to point to btpd, and now points to transmission... but only works for 1.22 and stops working once you've moved to a newer version
