I never ran it long enough to see that Blush I have been back and forth between 1.33 and 1.40 a few times. I just ran 1.40 long enough to notice that TorrentWatch worked with it (as opposed to the first two of your releases), but reverted back because 1.40 always ends up 'dead' 0 up/dl) after a few hours, but now I'm just repeating myself. Haven't come any further in my 'investigation' and proberly won't for a while.

Same problem here...

Just renamed "clutch" and rebooted... bye... bye... transmission... farewell...

Back to "btpd" which gives me a fast and usable GUI...

That is a know issue in 1.40, it is fixed by the transmission crew. I am currently testing a beta with this patch inside it. If it works okay I will make an update that will upload more.

(more info).

Please try entering it manually (the URL that is). I've found a way of adding the URL in the installer. Future releases will try to automatically add the correct URL. At the moment add it by hand.

Common the problems occur when users have a heavily 'customized' network media tank. Resulting in that locations settings are not the same anymore. Is there a folder called ".tranmission-nmt" on the root of you HARD_DISK? (check by SMB or FTP).

Hmm, I had been reading about that one and was wondering if it was related to my problems, and was one of the things I was thinking about trying out my self. If you already have a compiled version I would be more than happy to test it out for you, my ultra popular show airs tonight ...
HI, thanks for the great work Ger Teunis!!! Big Grin

Installation of 1.40 Final worked great ... i think. Although i have some remarks/questions:

- My installation ended up with a screen, i don´t no what it said, becaus i was allready with my finger on the home-button, as it says in the instruction "Transmission will be installed, but will not return (keeps loading). Just hit the exit button on the remote.". I seemed to work either way.
- Webinterface is MUCH FASTER than clutch. However, The first start did take a long time (about 30 Seconds)
- Dowload-Rates are VERY MUCH BETTER than before. But i recognize great differences looking at the constantly refreshing total rate, especialy download. Sometimes it jumps like 250 KB/s - 36 - 180 - 0 - 228 -160 from refresh to refresh. The longer transmission runs it seems to get more stable! Maybe it depends on how much torrents in the cue simultaniously?! Actualy i got 5 ...
- Upload-rate is constantly to low. I´d set 40 KB/sec, but it seems to get hardly above 15.
- Is it correct not to restart the torrent-part in "NMT applications"? I almost did, but then first tried to open the webinterface.
- Is the number of peers per torrent hardcoded to 50?

Okay, no problem. Uploads seem more stable here.

1. Download zip from here.
2. install the original release
3. Stop transmission.
4. Unzip and untar the above zip in /mnt/syb8634/bin
5. Start transmission again

Keep us posted.

Hi, you're welcome. Some answers ;-)
1. Correct. waiting is even better. I'll update my first post!
2. You're right. Currently testing a new build with some patches from transmission, which give better upload speeds while downloading.
3. No problem, you can restart, reboot whatever you like!
4. Donno, it is the standard transmission settings. Seems a bit low?

I think so ... maybe there´s a config-file to change it?
The refreshtime (set to 5 sec by default) is way shorter. It seems to be 1-2 sec if you watch it. Strange, relatively unimportantant but maybe a hint for a still remaining bug ...
hi - am I correct in assuming torrentwatch will not work with the Transmission 1.40 update?

thanks,
Warren

No you are not, it works nicely. There is a little cofusion if the ratio limit works, but that should be a minor concern.

really? oh - I must be doing something wrong.

I installed latest version of TorrentWatch, then installed Transmission 1.40.
I go to TorrentWatch in firefox right-click on a torrent listed and click download, but no torrent is ever added to Transmission.

Is there some configuration to be done?

thanks,
Warren

CW

I'll contact journey, I've received the patch from him which should make this transmission compatible with his TorrentWatch. I've applied that, if it isn't working it should be fixed by fixing the Transmission patches he provided.
