Hi all,

i have a problem with torrent client in my C200. It is still in "starting" mode and never starts.

When i turned on torrent for the first time it was working fine, but then i have installed newer transmission version through CSI and from that time i am unable to run any torrent client. I have tried to reinstall NMT apps, restore NMT to factory settings and also other torrent clients through CSI but nothing helped. Any time i turn on PCH torrent service is Starting but never starts....other services (samba, ftp) are running ok, just the torrent is stuck. I have also checked the router settings but it is configured OK.

i really have no idea what went wrong. Do you have any idea what happened and how can i fix it? thanks for any help...

UPDATE: somehow i have turned the torrent app on... i have installed transmisson 1.76 and it turned on (i have done this also on yesterday but it did not helped), but it is still not working.. i can not access transmission app at http://xxx:9091/transmission/web/ and when i access to torrent app at http://xxx:8883/torrent/bt.cgi i can see the torrent interface but there is a message
[11:04:03.688] transmission-remote: (localhost:8077) Couldn't connect to server
and it is not working.. i have tried also to update to transmission 1.91 but still the same.. torrent nmt app is running, i cannot access transmission and on the :8883/torrent/bt.cgi i have error message Sad

any advice how to solve it? thanks
Same issue there.
I have a HDX-1000 with CSI/Transmission installed on it and everything worked fine until yesterday.
I tried all same things as you. I'm trying to "scan" the disk with this utility
http://www.hdx1080.com/download/doc_deta...hard-drive

I don't know what more we can do... anyone has an idea?
i had the same problem some months ago.
The only solution i found was a reset to factory settings and intall everything again...

greets
So the scan disk utility can fix it!
Before, as the torrent app was stucked in "starting", if I tried to install any app via CSI, I obtained no error message, but only "Found hardware type: Syabas A/B type" and no installation.
Now, evereything works fine, Transmission starts and I can install other apps.

It comes from a "permission" problem, either a file disk error...

Hope that help you.
I am having exact same issue with the torrent client on my PCH A-110 unit.

About 2 days ago I installed hard drive in my PCH A-110 and installed NMT applications. I noticed the torrent client was showed as running and I can see the icon under 'Web Applications' but when I clicked on it, it goes into starting mode but BT torrent client never shows up. However I can bring up the Casgle client without any trouble.

Then I noticed the above post and entered "http://192.xxx.x.xx:8883/torrent/bt.cgi" in my desktop web browser and yes I can see the bt interface. I can even upload a torrent on to it and watch it downloading the torrent. I can access the settings, scheduler and everything, but I cannot bring up the torrent ui on the PCH A-110 unit.

Then I reset the A-110 and reinstalled the firmware and the NMT applications on the hard drive (fresh install) but I still cannot bring up the torrent ui on the PCH A-110 but I can access the ui on the web browser.

Is this a know bug/feature of the torrent client on these Network Media Tanks?

Thanks.
I still have this problem and the scan disk does not work on my popcorn C-200. Does anyone has an solution. Reinstalling the nmt apps doens't seem to word. When i try do a typical install i get an error message saying that there are no updates for the apps.I thought i could reinstall the NMT apps but it doesn't seem to work for me.

Exact the same problem here with the A-200, torrent stuck on starting, unable to to do typical (no updates) install. All my other webservices seem to be gone as well, in the CSI anyway.

But after some random testing I seem to have gotten torrent to work now. First I tried to install Transmission 1.92 via CSI but got some failure message. Then I proceeded with installing Transmission 1.76, which worked fine. Updated this to 1.92 and then uninstalled everything. This got Torrent to be "stopped". Installed Transmission 1.92 yet another time and voila, torrent got started. Hope this helps.

EDIT
Seems like the problem have returned somehow. Well, got rid of it again in another way.
1. Deep clean via CSI
2. Install Transmission 1.92
3. Restart Transmission
Had the same exact problem here with 1.76...

renamed a folder ".transmission" into "old.transmission" in the /share folder... (this is one of the hidden "dot" folders... just do not delete it in case it does not work properly), then installed again from CSI...

And it worked...
(I just have another problem with starting my torrents... http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...#pid376473 )
Hi everyone
I have the same problem on my C-200 and have tried all of the above but it still will not start

Does anyone have any further advise on how to get this torrent service started?
Hi, the only thing that really worked was re-installing the NMT apps unfortunatly.
Ok thanks
I'll try a complete re-format and install of the NMT apps and see how it goes

Cheers
Oh! my.

It seems this is actually about the file permission problem as already mentioned above, I followed his suit renaming the .transmission folder (hidden) into .transmission.old and just install the transmission 2.01 again to learn that it simply work fine.

I had once tried to delete all transmission files. As reported by Mac OS, the deletion on these folder cannot be done, since the "resume" is in use. Also deleting transmission folder is rejected by NMT with the alert message of "permission denied".

Next time, to upgrade the next version, I think I 'd better delete all files even though they are all in uploading status and paused since the "resume" is active with those pending jobs.

By the way, anybody knows how to delete these files with "resume in use" on Mac?
Thanks for the info, I can now also confirm this is the case

Cheers
