Hi all, When I play a 3D mkv movie with auto select mode (.3DSBS.mkv or .3DTAB.mkv), TV start with the correct 3D mode, but sometimes (fews minutes) the 3D mode is going out just for one seconds (switch 3D>2D>3D). If don't use the auto mode, so have to select 3D mode on the TV, but works well. Thanks for help |

Want to report: first test using a 3D MKV on my Mitshbishi DLP 73"? Circa 2009 3D enabled TV. I bought the 3D kit as soon as it came out. Bought a couple 3d BluRays, kids crumpled a set of $110 glasses on first viewing! Anyway, tonight, I ripped Polar Express 3D disc using DVDFab (trial version since I am still trying it out but supposedly supports 3D ripping), to a 3D MKV.H264.AC3 Format. Took about 30 minutes on my machine. Put it on a USB stick and stuck it into the C-200. Pressed the play button, and fiddled with the 3D kit box that had a button (and remote) for 3D modes. Put on my active 3D glasses and turned those on. It worked!!! I only watched a minute worth to be sure it was working. Congrats Werner and team! Will it work on my C-300 or A-300 too? My C-300 is connected to a different Mitsubishi TV (Laservue) and need a different 3D kit/glasses for that to work. would like to know if C-300 can do it before spending the $300 on the kit. Thanks! | All of this is great but still no support for Netflix. |

Actually, HDMI 1.3 has enough bandwidth to do full 1080p 3D according to the specs, so long as you stick to 24fps, which is convenient as that's what the vast majority of 3D content is shot at. Of course, if you get a 3D concert or something that was shot for TV 60fps then you'd come unstuck, but it's quite possible to get full 3D for regular 24fps movies across HDMI 1.3 Not that that means Sony have actually managed to achieve this, of course. |

| Your not going to find any confirmation because while it can play a full 3d disc, it cannot output it at full resolution to the tv. The hdmi port in the ps3 just cannot support it unless they do a hardware change to support the newer hdmi specs. I doubt the ps3 can do that with a software update. This is where things get a little confusing for obvious reasons. |

@werner, I guess my statement about the PS3 was true after all:Quote:Sony has released a firmware upgrade for PlayStation 3 consoles that enables 3D Blu-ray Disc playback. They previously released support for 3D gaming on April 21, 2010 (followed by the availability of 3D movies). Since the version 3.70 software update in August 9, 2011, the PlayStation 3 can support DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio while playing 3D Blu-ray. @accident, Can't find anything to confirm that but I did read: Quote:It can play 3D Blu-ray content at full 1080p. I'm not trying to be a wise ass here, just want to post the facts. |

I think somethign else you missed. The hdmi port on the ps3 can't output full image on a full 3d bluray. It might play them but there mega cell cpu is downscaling it to get it out the hdmi port.. the a400 on the other hand is full image, full sound, full output. |

I was not aware of the DTS-HD part, I apologize. Just the saw the announcement about the A400 supporting 3D ISO/Full 3D MKV, I'll be happy to get that baby when it hits the stores! |

so you compare and powerhorse device (PS3) in combination with the BD Company Sony behind to a Sigma SOC which is made to play Media in Hardware? Sony added it to PS3 because they were able todo it, first BD is there baby so they have all possible ways todo that, aside from that the PS3 play 3D BD but not HD Audio at the same time it will only output 5.1 DD or DTS, so even when the PS3 has some 3D functions it still can't use the hd audio from it, because HDMI 1.3 doesn't have enough bandwith, so don't call the PS3 a Full 3D player when it isn't true. |

Suppose you're right. I guess we'll find out sooner or later, in case a competing model with the same chipset would add support for it through an software update. Not saying that will actually happen of course. Despite real hardware limitations, I do find it hard to accept the fact that my 5 year old PS3 can play it and my 6 months old A300 can't. |

| Interesting, I just assumed that size original wouldn't work or had so much data it wouldn't perform well decoding it. |

| IIRC, I have tried playing back a Full-3D file, and it was scaled down to a narrow band in the center of the screen (I use Fit-to-Screen and not Full Screen on my setup). |

Once I modified the SBS-3D mkv, and set the "Video stereo mode" to 1 in the header, the TV (Samsung D7005) auto-switched to 3D. I used a standard srt within the mkv, and that only showed up on the left-hand part of the screen. The overlay menu's also only show up on the left-hand part of the screen. I think Syabas has cut a corner here, to make it easier for them to implement. The overlay menus are certainly usable (shut your right eye while checking the menu, or ignore the flickering), but for subtitles it is crap. It strains the eyes. Syabas!?!? |
