Ah ok, thanks!

I'll have a look into my options, unless I can disable the security aspects of my router that are causing issues. Any idea how I'd do this?

Thanks

Nick

RJ should be an abbreviation of RJ-45, i.e. "Registered Jack #45", aka a wired Ethernet connection.

As for routers, if you don't need fast wireless speeds, any older router capable of running Tomato/DD-WRT/OpenWRT (etc) firmware should be a nice and price-worthy alternative. Some Linksys models may be good candidates.

I'm pretty sure he's saying a hard wired (RJ45) connection is better then wireless.

I don't see that as an option for you because you have wireless only devices that are not working correctly.

Should mention, this is in the English only section of the forums.

ne relie pas ton popcorn a ton réseau local en wifi mais par réseau RJ, ca sera plus rapide et plus fiable

Thanks for the reply.... figured as much.

What would you suggest the best solution is.... complete new router and forgetting the livebox or just another router connected to the output of the livebox and a new wifi network?

Thanks

Nick

My parents used this box in the past with Orange and were always having problems. The Livebox requires you to pair it with all connected devices. I don't see how you could ever connect a PCH to this device since you cannot enter the pairing code.

My advice is to dump the box and get a proper router.

Edit: The above applies if you are trying to connect wireless, if you are wired then there shouldn't be a problem.

Just wondering if anyone else was using an Orange Livebox as their router. It comes from the ISP and it seems pretty useless so far :-(

I've been having issues with the pch and the pc and I think they may be related. Also the iPad and the PC seem to be having issues talking too...

If anyone uses this router and can give me any tips or pointers for websites, it'd be much appreciated!!

Thanks

Nick
