RE: On-Demand network share mounting - haggisbingo - 03-13-2009 10:01 PM Thx. Is hxall referring to beta for this software or PCH firmware?? I just want to automount a network share so it will work in YAMJ without manually opening up the share. Not using iso or anything else fancy.. Not sure where you'd get .08 at the moment, the link on the first page has been "upgraded" to .09. RE: On-Demand network share mounting - haggisbingo - 03-14-2009 01:58 AM I think I got it working by changing the config.php to actually have my share name instead of the False value.. I actually set config.php to go to HARD_DISK so YAMJ would load on boot. But since it's working as it should, the network share is also loaded automatically when a movie on it is loaded. The key for me was making sure that the FTP service was started and stayed on (I remembered this from playing around with llink). A lot of new people here may not know the history or standards for getting this stuff to work in Linux (they may keep the ftp service off, like me, to save memory). It might be a good idea to always have this req in the notes.. ![]() (03-14-2009 02:04 AM)hxall Wrote: sorry for the late reply, but I was actually referring to the beta firmware, you have to be a beta tester to get access, I don't think my original issues had anything to do with the firmware as I'm sure many here are using the standard official firmware... don't want to confuse the topic, I did eventually get 0.08 working, but 0.09 disabled iso play back all around (with jukebox and directly from the PCH menu) RE: On-Demand network share mounting - starz91 - 03-14-2009 10:51 AM (03-14-2009 10:12 AM)haggisbingo Wrote: Ok, it's working perfectly now. What should be done with config.php? or can I find this file? I did not understand everything? version 0.9 works? RE: On-Demand network share mounting - haggisbingo - 03-14-2009 12:04 PM To start a Jukebox automatically at boot, you can place HARD_DISK as is explained in the notes in config.php which is in the apps directory. If you don't want to do this then don't worry about it. Just make sure the FTP service is started - all of these add-ons apparently use it to auto-start on boot. (the network shares will load automatically with no further adjustment necessary, as was the original purpose). This was all with version 0.8 and no Beta firmware, just the latest official firmware for the PCH. (03-14-2009 10:51 AM)starz91 Wrote: What should be done with config.php? or can I find this file? Don't want to seem impatient, just wondering how you are coming along and when we can expect the iso functionality, thanks. RE: On-Demand network share mounting - bomberjim - 03-14-2009 07:44 PM Just to be clarify my original posts and to be clear for anyone else. Part of my problems lie with an older version of the 5150 skin that didn't support iso files. Kinda dumb of me not to realize that. Version .09 still "broke" ISO's as hxall said, but it wouldn't have worked for me in any event. I don't know if anyone else is confused about this point, but I was. Version .08 does work just fine with ISO files that DON'T contain a DVD menu structure (movie only rips), it does NOT work with full DVD rips that do have a menu structure. That's not quite correct, but I did a real poor of explaining let me try again . Version .08 WILL auto mount and play an ISO on ANY share from within a jukebox as long as there is no DVD menu structure on the ISO. There is no need to first play something else on the target share. If your ISO does have a menu structure, then you're correct, you'll have to first play something else to mount the new share. Since you've stated that you use full DVD rips - it's unlikely that you would've run across this. My fault for not being clearer.Jim L RE: On-Demand network share mounting - hxall - 03-15-2009 12:45 AM @bomberjim, I see what you are saying, thanks for clearing that up. I don't have any isos without menu structure, so I can't test that functionality. Hopefully this will be a mute point as soon as journey fixes 0.09. cheers, hxall RE: On-Demand network share mounting - simonk83 - 03-16-2009 02:11 AM Hi, Does this work when using Myihome to stream, or is it not necessary? ![]() Ta RE: On-Demand network share mounting - hxall - 03-16-2009 04:01 AM (03-16-2009 02:11 AM)simonk83 Wrote: Hi,I don't use Myihome, but I know others do and it works just fine, Myihome is just an http server for streaming media, you can setup the jukebox to play movies from SMB (also known as CIFS), NFS and HTTP shares... |
