RE: On-Demand network share mounting - excal - 02-25-2009 09:04 PM Before i go digging, where am i gonna be looking for the config.php file? RE: On-Demand network share mounting - Tom92 - 02-25-2009 09:12 PM Just a quick question. For removing this great tool (who would actually ), you have to delete the copied files and the created directory. But which lines of the start.sh?

RE: On-Demand network share mounting - journey4712 - 02-25-2009 09:33 PM @excal config.php will be in your NMT's hard drive at Apps/Mono.Wrapper/config.php hopefully not too hard to find Also looks like i might have released 0.06 with the boot share set to HARD_DISK, but in future revisions this will be set to false. The installer has some logic in it though so it wont overwrite your config file@tom92 you can delete the folder and remove Mono.Wrapper/init.sh from start_app.sh. Also if you go into the installer there should be an uninstall option which does the same 2 actions. journey4712 RE: On-Demand network share mounting - excal - 02-26-2009 02:40 AM Ok i tried version 0.06 the config file was easy to find edit...very self explanitory. There was an initial hiccup in that i installed it and rebooted...it rebooted to the hard drive as expected. When i attempted to play a movie on the hard drive it got stuck in the black screen (but i could hear the hard drive working like crazy). It took a minute or two but it responded to a power+usb to reboot. After the reboot its working just fine and everything is playing as expected. So a long winded response, but anyone who comes across getting stuck at the black screen ya might just try rebooting once, it seems to have cleared everything up for me. I don't use shares yet, (i probably will need them in a month or two) but i can honestly say this is one of the greatest peices of software ever created ![]() Awesome job man. btw, i was making posts in the jukebox forums to spread the word about this. In the first page you mention that it doesn't work with ISO's and such yet because that uses amp instead of mono. But i'm having no trouble playing an iso from my jukebox. Is that because i mounted the drive already by playing an avi file? Just wanted to clear that up for those posts i made RE: On-Demand network share mounting - archp2008 - 02-26-2009 04:35 AM I ran install.html from the PCH ( at beginning of this thread (and it said it was installed properly, but when I ran MLMJ it still didn't mount the shares. What could have gone wrong? What could have gone wrong? Upon rebooting the PCH the tv screen goes black in about 5-10 seconds. I've had this happen several times before at the beginning or end of movies, so I don't know what's happening, or if this installation is involved or unrelated. Problem is I don't know how to get into the Pch now. Hopefully it's just a bit overheated after playing for 3 hours. I turned it off to let it cool down for awhile. Is there a way to uninstall this software from the PC or are there other suggestions to get it stabilized? RE: On-Demand network share mounting - journey4712 - 02-26-2009 06:13 AM The screen goes black? thats quite odd. To uninstall the software follow the same instructions given tom tom92 above Quote:@tom92The folder being refered to is Apps/Mono.Wrapper on the NMT hard disk The first thing i would test though is open up Apps/Mono.Wrapper/config.php and change Code: define('BOOT_SHARE', 'HARD_DISK');Code: define('BOOT_SHARE', False); That should disable anything mono.wrapper does that can have an effect before you play a movie. As to when the movies dont play, please do the following to help me debug it: 1. Reboot NMT 2. Browse to a jukebox and select a video file 3. Report on what exactly you see(screen flashes and stays on details page, screen black for 3secs and then file not found, then back to details page, etc.) 4. From your pc load up http://ip-of-pch:8088/stream/file=/tmp/mono.log and post the contents of that as well. journey4712 RE: On-Demand network share mounting - ericp - 02-26-2009 08:19 AM Does it work only whit smb shares ? because i get no connection whit the nfs shares RE: On-Demand network share mounting - journey4712 - 02-26-2009 09:47 AM @ericp could you do the same thing i instructed 2 posts above, the bottom 4 steps about when movies dont play the contents of mono.log and what exactly you see on screen are required for me to debug any problems journey4712 RE: On-Demand network share mounting - archp2008 - 02-26-2009 03:11 PM Thanks for the explanation on the uninstall, etc. Today the PCH is ready to go again. It seems to need a rest after playing for a few hours. The screen-black-out phenomenon appears unrelated to this software. Could this be a sign of an imminent total failure? Unfortunately the mounting process is still not working. Only movies on the internal HDD or from the last accessed share play directlry from MLMJ. I need to re-read this thread but I'm still suffering from a flu-bug. Meanwhile, any pointers as to why this software may not be doing anything, or how to troubleshoot it would be appreciated. Meantime, I'm over the 450 mark in movies added to jukebox. I'm going to have to edit them so that, when I see them in MLJM and they won't play, I will at least know which share they're on, so that, if they don't play, I know what share to find them on. dont? or do they always not play Based on the log, every time it says "Mono Exited with return status of 0" that should mean the file was successfully played. Every time the return status is 255 that means the file failed to play. The issue with it working sometimes but not always, based on looking over your log, seems to be that you have one share named HOME-D309DBCB8C:MOVIES, and another share with the exact same name but a number 1 after it. Due to the way i wrote the code if the MOVIES is mounted when it checkes if movies1 is mounted it sees movies and treats it as being already mounted. I will take a few thoughts through that function in the source, shouldn't be too hard to work out a solution, probably just need to add a single space Am i right in assuming that some files play and some dont, if i'm wrong there then we need a different fix ![]() journey4712 RE: On-Demand network share mounting - excal - 02-26-2009 05:41 PM Not 100% sure, but an easy fix for him in the meantime would be just to give each share a unique name no? Like if he went into network setup and gave HOME-D309DBCB8C:MOVIES the name 'movies' and i donno say... HOME-D309DBCB8C:movies1 the name 'stuff' or would mono.wrapper be looking at the network address as opposed to the name? RE: On-Demand network share mounting - journey4712 - 02-26-2009 05:44 PM Well, it was about as easy as i thought ![]() New version, mono.wrapper-0.07.zip. Does this mean that all future shares will be automatically detected and work as well? RE: On-Demand network share mounting - archp2008 - 02-26-2009 09:04 PM A few minutes later I got that black screen again. I tried rebooting the PCH many times but always it ended with the black screen. The reboot process seems normal, finally ending with the warning to backup your hard disk regularly and the sources screen. It's different now, though, in that I don't get a chance to choose hard disk to get the index page. This happens automatically, as soon as the source screen loads. Then, about 5 seconds later, after the index page appears, the screen goes black. I have time to click one of the icons, for example, jukebox, but 2 or 3 seconds later the screen is black. As I said before, I have been having this problem with the screen going black for a week or two now, so it's probably unrelated to the mounting software. Now I don't know where to go from here to be able to use the popcorn hour again. It still appears as a share and is accessible from the PC. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. |
