Being able to see "the season" at a glance is a really important feature for me. It's not such a big deal with new shows, because I'm just watching the newest episode as it comes out. But for my favorite shows that I've seen over and over, like M*A*S*H, The Simpsons, Star Trek, they've all got 7+ seasons with near 24 episodes each. So when I decide to pick an episode, I would feel blind if I had to click right 24 times a season just to see what I have to choose from. Being able to "scroll" down the list with my eyes and not the PCH is way way faster.

1st, in the old one, the episode list was only the numbers, so the only information you could get from looking at it was the total number of episodes. That is now available right at the top.

2nd, this one is much faster for browsing not only because it switches from episode to episode faster than the old verison, but also because you can progress directly through the episodes, as in 1-2-3 instead of 1-2-1-3.

I would completely agree with you if the old one had episode titles, because that can let you know which is which. But since it's just numbers that don't tell you anything, I prefer the new one.
