MSP Plugin Competition - October 2009 WINNER Last time - chris57 - 11-02-2009 02:18 PM

Well guys its a sad moment for me as I announce the last winner of the Plugin competition.Sad

Obviously you can still develop plugins and i hope that there will be other new competitions to come. There is a current competition for a free C200 run in conjunction with videosurf.com of course.

Anyway back On Topic and big congratulation go to Genius995 and his IMdB plugin which has been voted the winner of the last competion:-
http://msp.florisvanderploeg.com/imdb

An MSP interface to the Internet Movie Database (and others). Search for movies, actors or characters from your NMT.

Available via MSP Community>What New>IMdB. Subscribe it as one of your favourites via the Green button on your remote.

I can see this Plugin being very popular and also being used by other UserApps.

Other entries were:-
1. iIgnite
http://www.b-int.net/ignite
If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to

2. Earth-touch.com podcasts (Video Podcast)
http://plugin.mspsite.com/user/earth_touch
Sit down, relax, and watch the latest videos of Earth-touch.com (Wildlife, Moremi lions, Marine channel ...)

3. It's Showtime (Others)
http://plugin.mspsite.com/user/Its_Showtime
Locate all movie theaters near your location, lists all movies playing at those theaters, and their showtimes. Because even PopcornHour owners sometimes go to the theater!

Thanks to all of you for your hard work and the gracious behaviour shown in the run up. You are all winners in my bookSmile

Yes, congratulations, genius995!
Of course, I'm a bit bummed not winning it myself...had big plans of putting it in my new home theater I'm building in my basement.
Hope you put it to good use!

Congrats, as a judge it got my vote.

Something very useable and useful on the NMT platform.

Well done.

Congrats mate, nice plugin Smile
One downside though, it's terribly slow at the moment.

Congrats m8 for a job well done. The plugin is responsive enough on my nmt. Enjoy your new machine and keep it up.

Thanks guys Smile

The plugin can be a bit slow at time, but that is caused by the hosting server. The plugin won't be very quick, because it uses screen scraping to interpret the search results.

@daniel_owen_uk: I owe you one Wink

@HeartWare: will look in to it... I will keep you posted if I create such a plugin Smile

@Styles: I can imagine you're bummed, I would be too if I didn't won. I'll put it to good use Wink

Tried the nasa asx streams, they don't play on a C200 using a href="http://url.to/file.asx" vod

There are MP4 feeds as well, and if I download them, they play fine...

RE: MSP Plugin Competition - October 2009 WINNER Last time - genius995 - 11-03-2009 11:36 AM

How about the Quicktime NASA TV feed: http://www.nasa.gov/qtl/151335main_NASA_TV_QT.qtl
Is this one supported?

There are also Real Media (RAM) feeds, but I think these aren't supported on a PCH, aren't they?

Ok guys before we start development here lets remember this thread is not for NasaTvBig Grin

I'll split the NASA ones off or you can start your own thread if you like, let me know.

Ultimately this section may be archived as the competition is finished so the other MSP section would be the place.
