RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing - Jerome - 12-05-2009 01:15 AM

Thanks for this new features...

How to install this "testing" version?? over the stable??

It is possible to have both at the same time (stable AND testing) in case of something goes wrong..?? Every time that I made a clear reinstall I lost all my mark/watched episodes Sad

Best regards

Jerome

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing - lordy - 12-05-2009 01:31 AM

Hi, only one can be installed at a time. As long as you do not do an uninstall then you should keep your marks.
There are also backups of the index.db and plot.db You can put them somewhere safe.

Hey Lordy,

Nothing to report so far on the r595.
The Boxset rendering on the TV is much better.

I have posted 2 issues before, not sure if you noticed them or not.

1. In the Series, when you start marking episodes are marked, it is always showing 1 episode more as not watched. Example, a Series of 6 episodes, 4 marked as watched (red) and 2 not marked (green). It would display [3 of 6] instead of [2 of 6].

2. When viewing Oversight from the TV (gaya). The Menus at the top are centered. The posters, on the other hand, seem to be left aligned.
As an example, if I set oversight to display 3 rows and 9 columns with length of 190, the posters fill the screen. There's the same margin on the left side that we started with (doesn't change), but on the right side (it starting expanding) it's touching the edge of the screen. When I move the cursor to the setup icon, the posters would now be centered with the same margin on the left and right.

Thanks,
Espresso

r595 seems to be working ok,
nothing to report yet

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing - lordy - 12-06-2009 02:11 AM

@espresso - the watch count is fixed in svn and will be in the next testing release.
The grid is centred but there is a margin on the left that cannot have any HTML elements, so the page spills out on the right.
Not much can be done about that, (see item 2 here )

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing - espresso - 12-06-2009 06:09 AM

Thanks for the reply Lordy Smile,
I thought we could narrow the margin on the left since when I moved the cursor to the setup icon, it did that.

Thanks,
Espresso

Hey espresso are you talking about the slight movement to the left of the screen/posters when you cursor to the right edge? If you are altering poster widths 'centred' all mine up and now I have no movement.. sorry if I've misunderstood

All that is happening there is the gaya equivalent of horizontal scroll bar.
Its scrolled to the right just so you can see all of the setup icon.
I've made a few tweaks to the auto-poster size calculations. May make 9 columns look better on default width/height (ie no need to set the image dimensions). This will be in the next testing release.

Transparent background doesn't seems to be working on TV.
Tried different %ages of transparencies.. turning fade on-off..

Sounds great! looking forward to it. Though note that the setup icon was never hidden and these icons (setup, tv+movie, * etc) are static and don't really get affected by our setting.
Would it help if I take photos and send it?

Thanks,

Hey Atinkler, I guess it's hard to explain without any screen shots, but with the setting that I have (3 rows x 9 columns by 190 width):

1. I have hidden all the bottom arrows. When I move the cursor to the one of the bottom posters (3rd row), and then move to the right, the screen moves and up down a bit. It is understandable since it's trying to display the bottom arrows that I have hidden. This is not really my problem. Though would be nice if we can overcome this as well.
2. With my 3 rows x 9 columns, the posters fill the screen, but it becomes obvious that they are not centered anymore, as on the left margin the margin was fixed, but the right margin is now basically ZERO (was being filled). When I was moving the cursor to the setup icon, the posters get centered (same margin left and right).
Naturally, if I reduce my poster numbers like 3 rows x 8 columns this does not happen like you pointed out.

I was thinking that since when moving the cursor to the setup icon we get less margin to the left, maybe we can apply that in a some way to get more display on the screen. Or at least when It starts filling on the right, it balances to the left.

Hope it makes sense what I'm saying.

Thanks,
Espresso

Excellent stuff lordy, keep up the good work - we appreciate it Smile

RE: Oversight Jukebox Testing Version r595-testing - lordy - 12-06-2009 10:47 PM

@espresso, Hi, If the entire screen shifts left due to cursor movement it is the gaya scrolling. It doesnt matter if you can still see all of the the setup icon anyway. It is just close enough to the edge to trigger the gaya scrolling.

The main grid is in the center. You can verify this by setting the grid to say 4 columns.

The simplest way to fix your issue is to make all of the poster icons a tiny bit smaller than they are now.
eg if you have 9 columns and the icon width is 140 then set icon with to 138 or 136 etc. Then this will bring the 9 columns away from the right edge of the screen.

Transparency definitely doesn't seem to be working quite right. Doesn't matter what values I put in, it doesn't appear on the TV (which is SD - not sure if this is relevant).

Also noticed the transparency values are shared between SD and HD. Don't know if this intentional - doesn't matter to me. Just happened to notice.
