How can PCH A-200 talk to Modem? It is not a PC. You will need a router in between. may be wireless may be not.. but router would be must.. Isn't it?

Well I meant of course through a router.... but anyway problem has been solved.. was caused by the router, which basically only works as a switch at the moment.. using only one IP (which was already assigned to a pc)

but anyway, problem solved, thanks for the help tho!

I am having problems with the internet connection for the A-200 as well. Tried just about everything. copied IP settings from other computers in the network which have no problems connecting to the internet......

Are more people experiencing this problem for the A-200?

I have no problems with ethernet, it looks fine even on gigabit. All my devices (router and switch) are from Netgear. The only thing is, when i try to copy files from my Windows PC to the PCH-A200 (Simba share), it takes ages. And if it is one big file (like a ISO file of 25 GB) it simply fails to do so. Is this a known issue? Or has this something to do with LIN(S)UX?

The A-200 has a USB slave port which enables you to hook up the player to a USB port on your computer, and access the internal drive of the A-200 the same way as you would with an external hard disk. You will need to install ext file system drivers on the PC though.

If you are going to copy more than say 8 GB then I see no point in using the network.

Just hooked up my A-200 and updated to latest firmware. I'm getting very glitchy playback from my "homemade" MKV files. Blu-ray/HD-DVD are the source files, with FLAC multichannel audio. Sometimes the video stutters excessively and sometimes the audio is not mapped to the correct channels. I'm sure it's something I've done wrong :-p Anyway, I can live with that and plan to use single M2TS files in the future.

Actually, I have a huge collection of M2TS files on my home server which played perfect on my A-110, but now all the HD audio tracks are unplayable on the A-200. I find this a tad bit ridiculous and surely hope this bug fix is high on the priority list. If the A-110 can accomplish perfect playback of HD audio in an M2TS container, there is no reason why the A-200 should not. And I should not have to store an entire ISO on my home server just to get HD audio playback! The whole point of having the single M2TS file is to conserve space, as only the main audio and video tracks are present. Please fix this as soon as possible! This bug aside, I am really liking the A-200 Smile

A-200 replaced A-110. Updated firmware and everything went fine. Set up network shares. Also fine. Played a MKV file. Not fine.

This A200 is not sending DTS or Dolby Digital audio out of HDMI. 2 channel PCM only.

Is this a known issue with the new box, or does anyone have another suggestion?

(Yes, I setup DTS/Dolby output to "raw".)

Now that I have NFS sharing set up on my Windows Home Server, I've started converting all my M2TS files to Blu-ray structure with TSMuxer and then to an ISO with ImgBurn. I hate the multi-step process as it's time consuming, but the upside is true support for Blu-ray chapter points and subtitles. I went with ISO so that I don't have to transfer a crazy number of files/folders to my server for every single movie. I also set up YAMJ and it's streaming the ISO files just fine. I want to avoid full ISO backups for space savings on my server, so is there a program that can work in conjunction with AnyDVD HD that will output an ISO when remuxing is the preferred method?

Just got my A200 02-01-2010 and here are the first thoughts and issues

Initial firmware does not have NMT apps to format drive (I did download the firmware and got the drive formatted and apps installed)

Tried the built in feature to watch video podcast from CNET, REV3 etc. and started watching a video podcast from CNET and lost control of the A200, I could not stop, pause or anything else while it was playing. I had to power off to stop it, how lame.

The website says rich UI, yeah like it's just a skin, nothing has changed from the the A110 menu. Boxee has a rich UI.

Lastly, this is very annoying, the stupid fan runs all the time and is rather noisy. If they would have spent $3 for a little more aluminum heat sink, they might have been able to get rid of the fan or use one that spins a lot slower and is truly quiet! I see an opportunity here for someone to sell a silencing kit for the A200, I might get to work on that.

Don't get me wrong, I like how the popcorn hour plays movies, it's just so rough around the edges and stability of anything else but movie playback is spotty. I really wished Popcorn hour would have teamed up with Boxee and used their code as well as their hundreds of apps.

Here is hoping that Popcorn hour puts some serious development into their "Rich UI" and apps like Boxee has.

Playing 29.97 fps files: sync is automatically set to 60 Hz and playback is choppy ...

I don't mind walking from the 3th floor (where my computer is) to the 1st floor (where the PCH is placed in a closed TV furniture). But a second adapter would be nice. Why bother to place an ethernet card for the first place?

Hi, does that mean I can use a menu function to format the internal HD? Is it also possible to use a USB connection from Popcorn Hour to the PC to format the HD?

Thanks in advance,

I have the exact same problem. Regular SD DVD ISO's play fine. But my HD movies are in M2TS format and none of them play fine. The video on all is choppy and I can't get DTS HD or Dolby TrueHD out of the A-200.

RE: [A-200] Firmware 02-02-100128-19-POP-411 (02-01-100119-19-POP-411 Apps) (29.01.2010) - urbie - 02-02-2010 11:00 PM

He everybody,

Just got my new A-200 today. Very happy with it, played with it a little bit and found some issues. Looked in this forum and found the latest update. So I upgraded to this latest firmware (02-02-100128-19-POP-411 (02-01-100119-19-POP-411 Apps) (29.01.2010) but when rebooting my tv (Philips 42PFL9664) just tells there's a non supported video format on the HDMI channel.

Now since I'm new to the PCH and apparently no full guide for the A-200 is available I got a few questions:

- Anybody got similar problems?
- How can I solve this problem? Is there a reset button on the A-200. Found a tiny button on the front and think it's the reset button but not sure (it does nothing)
- Can I fall back to the previous firmware?
- Anybody got any other suggestions?

To complete this post: got a Synologu DS210J NAS from which I play all my media (worked with the original firmware).

Thanks for all the help in advance, your advice is appreciated.

Greets, urbie.

This would indicate your A-200 have been setup for a video output resolution/refresh that your screen do not support and your screen now reporting this

To fix it, try and press the TV-mode button on the remote when the message of non supported input appear - this will change the video output on your A-200
Cycle through the outputs slowly untill you get a picture - then goto settings on the A-200 and set a video output supported by your screen and save it.

That is exactly my main disappointment. The A-200 does not have a power switch, you can only turn it off with the remote. BUT, turning it off from the remote does not turn the internal fan off, it runs all the time!. Eventually the fan will clog with dust and stop, and it will fry the mainboard. I hope this can be fix by firmware update, otherwise it would be costly design flaw. At the moment all I can do is to unplug the power supply from the outlet.
