I will be adding TheTVDB to NMJT soon then you can have all of the information for each series/episode Smile

Ah, I see. Makes sense. I only have a few TV shows at this point, and SOME of them have the correct Video/Show data, but IMDB doesn't have info for all/most TV shows. That's why I was confused, as perhaps some of that data was pulled from an initial scrape with NMJ's software, prior to me disabling it and only using NMJT. Thanks again for the 411! Big Grin

Hmm...I tried this with two TV series that won't be recognized in NMJ, but it won't let me change them. Any help with that would be appreciated Smile

A little more information on what you are trying to do and what NMJT won't do would help Smile

Yeah, I know...sorry. Just woke up from my nap Smile

Ok, I open NMJ Toolbox (1.0.3.1), double click the TV series (in this case Mr. Sunshine or Lights Out).
* I've added the IMDB ID
* Click on "TheMovieDB" button with "IMDB ID" checked
* Getting a popup with "No valid movie info received".
* Check "Title"
* Getting same popup
* Changing "Search title" to "Mr. Sunshine 2011"
* Getting same popup
* Changing "Search title" to "Mr Sunshine 2011"
* Getting same popup
* Change to "Nikita", which has been resolved by NMJ
* Getting same popup from doing anything and then click "TheMovieDB" button

Apart from what I've written here, I've not done much with the program. If my memory serves me right, I only selected the database...

Cheers!

Ah, it is exactly the same issue as jcfay has just asked, NMJToolbox currently only queries TheMovieDB - which only contains movies, not TV series. Any info you want with the version currently released will have to be added manually.

I am hoping to get TheTVDB querying sorted for the next release.

As NMJ only retrieves information from the English IMDB, there would still be a major benefit for those having another native language. I know that at least lots of German users would be very grateful for this feature.

However, the API argument counts, of course. No way to use their API? Or do they want money for that?

Ok, cool - thanks for the reply Smile

Well for the movie side you can get results in German from TheMovieDB so it wasn't an issue for me not going to IMDB.

I believe you have to pay for their API so the only other way would be to scrape the web pages.

True, but even with my small movie collection I've encountered several movies with missing info on TMDB already. IMDB is far more comprehensive in that regard (at least if you're not looking for series info).

if everything is correctly inside your DB, you should see a button "Episodes" on the GUI of the NMJ when you go to the informaton of the show. if you move to it with you remote and click OK, you should see a list of all episodes and be able to navigate thru them. there, you just need to select which episode you want to start.

Also, check on the Video Tab, find the band of brothers entry, click Edit and make sure the 'Video Type' in the Video Attributes group is set to 'TV Show'. NMJ uses this setting to detemine whether to show the 'Episodes' button in the NMJ display. (it also shows the 'Episodes' button when set to '1' (Movie Multiple Parts).
