your server's log files could record whom were updating more then one time and more tried later.
we are consumers but not specialists. i think you have to make a better updating plans for your consumers.
and i think i am lucky my unit still works well under 110422 firmwere.

They do see when users fail. But there is no way to link a mac address to a single user. Not to mention we just ask for error codes here to try to help the user with there problem. For all we know some of the people dont actually own a c200 and are trying to flash. And this is the only update to be like this all the other updates are simple push and flash.

I think to many people are complaining about a single update 18month into the life of the product. its the only update thats been like this and probably the only update that will be like this. And has been mentioned if you want a easy to flash product you have to make a locked down product that cannot be modified. No installing jukebox's on the unit. no using CSI software. Im sure people would rather be able to run custom software then have 1 firmware that is easier to flash.

i do understand what you said here but my unit c-200 is a pure one no other 3rd apps on it.
i mean if your customs got failed on updating. what should they to do ? and what should you to do to help them ?
NOT just have to wait for ?

most customers I assume would contact customer support there is a phone number and email address listed on the pch website

And not to throw a monkey wrench into this but if you're from China, you do know all internet traffic there passes through gov't proxies and firewalls.

If some of the ports used in the update is blocked by gov't, the update can and will fail.

There is a popcornhour.com.cn domain, I think you should investigate other C200 owners in your country if they have been able to update as well.

i don't think so .......
my c-200 download speed is quite well about 2-3 mins . it stopped at CRC status. and i do know the proxies and firewalls questions about my local. i am sure that PCH website isn't on the lists

Hi, my update went without a hitch.

However, since the update I've a few issue that I thought I should bring to the powers that be to attend to....incase some else hasn't yet.

1) Wireless speed is back to a few firmware updates again (bad!...sorry, can't remember which update fixed it the last time, but it's terrible again). Nothing else changed my network environment...only the firmware update... this time seems worse as any file transfers actually eventually fail.

2) USB continually disconnecting after a period.... I've an external USB drive connected (as well as an internal drive). If I reboot the c200, the USB drive is 'seen' perfectly..I can browse the contents of the disk as normal. If I leave the c200 for a say 30 minutes and try to browse the USB disk (either from the device menus) I get an error "Request cannot be processed Press return to return to the previous screen". Can see the mounted disk via Telnet as 'Expansion_Drive', but no contents can be seen. The c200 can be on a USB drive folder as the last navigated folder and upon 'return' I still get the error message.

Still love my c200.

As far as I can see I have the same setup as yours. If you didn't mess around with installing apps etc. you'll be fine upgrading like me.
But I never stay on the safe and sound when comes about firmware updates for my C200(owner since Oct.2009).
Getting shivers down my spine though, anyway.
I like being up to date and I love to fix things when they're not broken.

Indeed, is there a way of putting the new firmware, or to continue with the old one. What's new, I see little improvement?

There is no real 'improvement' in this firmware except that it updates the Blu Ray AACS licenses which means that you'll be able to play discs with newer protection methods. That's why it isn't a regular firmware update (and why it has to be done online).

It is a prerequisite for any new firmwares with feature additions and bug fixes though, so even if the updated licenses aren't important to you, the ability to load any future firmwares might be.

At the end of the day you're going to have to do it unless you're content never to update your machine from where it is now.

Hi Slogger. I don't know if the USB disconnect issue is related to the new firmware or not. I had similar problems even before the latest update. What I found was that certain models of the WD green drives combined with certain models of USB housings would let the drive go to sleep and not wake up when the C-200 tried to access it. Played around till I found combinations that would wake up. Latest find was a 4 bay USB box called PROBOX which holds 4 drives. I have 4 WD 2TB green drives in it and so far it has worked flawlessly, even after standing idle for 2 days.

I'm looking for another USB drive bay with at least 4 bays. Does the Probox shut down by itself when you power the server down? Some do, some don't and I want one that does.

You are lucky, I guess.
The same disc, Prince of Persia, Region B, used to run without problems when I bought it last year. But now, with the new firmware, it doesn't anymore. It now has the same issue I can find in other posts in the board here: trailer runs, but when you hit the menu button, the screen gets blank and nothing happens anymore. My C-200 doesn't seem to freeze completely though, occasionally I get the small triangle with the exclamation mark when pressing some buttons on the remote, but delayed by 1-2 min.

I am using a IHOS104-37 with an 500gb HDD and despite some posts here about disney movies in combination with this drive having issues, other movies seem to run fine. Such as Tron Legacy for example.

I also tried hard resets, different region sets, etc. Nothing works.
Next time I wait before upgrading... never change a running system...

It auto turns it self off when the server shuts down (can be disabled) but be warned it shows the dirves as individual drives. If you want JBOD or RAID so everything shows up as 1 drive your going to want a different model.

I am getting the Failed ERR032 error when trying to update via network. have c200 no drive or hdd installed.
