You are in the wrong region.

What Region are you in in Sweden for BD? You should be in Region B not A:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/62/Blu-ray_regions_with_key.png

So you will only be able to play Region B discs unless you set your C200 BD region to Region A. You should remove region protection when you backup your discs.

When I inserted a bluray disc in my LG player it didnt do anything although I had it on autostart and when I tried to play it said insert disc, but it works now I did a reset and checked if I had region B which I already did.Guess that kicked some life in it... Anyways about the full image blurays I tried to play from my usb hdd, I didnt think the c-200 checked for regions aswell, thought that was only when from a physical disc inserted."Someone" else did thouse backups for me Cool and I tried like a hundred before and never had any probs but now I had 2 of these that told me about wrong region. The same images plays fine on my boxee box.
So the result of this experiment is that I cant play backups if they "forget" to remove regions but my boxee can.

ERR059 (after mac unblocking) - eFrisky - 08-28-2011 04:21 PM

Hi,

I really hope someone can help me.

I tried the online stepstone firmware update, but the result was the ERR059. So I contacted support (CaseNo. 15026, 18 Aug) and from a subsequent reply (25 Aug) the mac address has been 'unblocked' already.

But, following the flash procedure to-the-letter (on page 1 of this thread), I'm still consistently getting the ERR059.

I've re-checked that I submitted the correct mac adderess to support.
I've read most of this thread for hints, and around the 'net for clues.
I've attempted to flash with all drives removed, as described in the procedure; I never used the LTU CSI package.
I reflashed the existing 02-04-110422-21-POP-408-000 firmware each time for attempting the online flash update.
I've cleared the cache and reset to Factory Defaults.

Is it possible that the mac address for my C200 is not 'seen' correctly by the update server, so it fails the check?
Support suggested that the main board may be faulty; is this error code related to any previously-seen hardware faults?

I have a lot of hardware/network/computery resources at my disposal here, so any suggestions at all welcome. Has anyone tried spoofing a mac address for a successful online update?

As an aside, some good friends have asked for a media play recommendation. Should I continue to recommend this or the other A2x0 models? They aren't quite at the JTAG or hacking firmware update level, so I'm hesitant...

Are you wired or WiFi?
Is your router blocking the needed port?

Apologies in advance for a noob question...

I had a look at the first post in this thread but can not see a link to download the actual firmware 03-04-110530-21-POP-408-000 ???

Am I blind?

I looked on the PCH site but that firmware is not listed

http://www.popcornhour.com/download/C200/firmware-C200.html

The latest on that site is 02-04-110422-21-POP-408-000 (which I already have installed).

I have tried the auto update through my PCH C200 but it failed with some error code (sorry I can't remember what).

Any help appreciated.

Read the first post in the thread. This firmware is online only.

Problems should be reported to support to fix.

I did not say that. What I said was that you can only play either backups from the region that you have set on your C200 or backups that have no region set. Same for all players.

I sent a PM to Werner as instructed by someone in another thread. Who exactly should I be sending the support request to?

I changed it yesterday to:
5. wait for the MAC unblock
if your MAC gets blocked due to a failed update then you will see ERR00059. There is NO point trying again as the server has blocked your C200's MAC code. You need to ask PCH Support to unblock your MAC via the PCH Website Support section.

If its elsewhere in the first post let me know and I'll change it.

Thank you for your reply - sorry I'm a bit slow getting back to you.

I'm using a wired connection, with a linux router. To determin if it was a network issue, I bypassed the switch and router, and plugged the C200 directly into my ADSL modem. The modem is in 'Bridge' mode, so it offers the WAN address directly on it's 'Internal' side.
The C200 successfully used the DHCP-assigned WAN IP address, my public IP address. I can't make the a more direct internet connection to the C200.

The update still failed with ERR059.

To repeat, I have previously contacted the support with Case Number 15026:
tech support Wrote:4 Hi <>, we already reset your C-200 mac address. If still cannot update the firmware then the main board might be faulty and need to be replaced.

3 Hi,
Could you please tell me if this support action has been done? I have tried updating a few times in the past week, but each time it still fails with the ERR059 error.

on August 25, 2011 12:40 PM

2 Hi <>, we will inform our developers to check and you can update the firmware again on the next day time. Thanks.

1 Dear tech support,

Could you please 'unblock' my MAC address for my C-200, so that I may update my firmware. I am experiencing the 'ERR059' issue.

MAC: <>

Thanks in advance,

I've searched and read all that I can re. the ERR059. I can't find any evidence at all that others users have suffered this error and that it's due to hardware failure or errors, others than the defined "invalid reply from MAC server" as listed on the error codes page of the wiki.

I even found an old post of yours

Now I'm sure that is not new to you but when it does get unblocked if it fails again make sure you make a note of the full error code, it will be ERR00064 and then some further numbers. Those numbers tell the engineers why its failing.

I've sent another message to support to ask if they could please double-check that the correct mac address was 'unblocked'.

You should double check if you have given them the correct MAC too...
Your C200 might be behind rooter with firewall and everything might happen then... even the MAC change... depending of the configuration...
