They only have 1 "coder", and can not afford to hire another one!!
As this would drop profits for 40%!!!!

So we have to wait Smile

what is with everyone and 3d tv lol. 3d tv is going to die out faster then it came in. Dont waste your money looking for the perfect 3d products it wont be around in the coming years to even use it. and if it does last it will be 4k passive 3d. So everyone will be buying a new tv with new technology anyways lol

Panasonic, who bet heavily on 3DTV just announced it expects an annual net loss of 5.5 billion dollars. Meanwhile Sony, another big booster of 3DTV says they are going to restructure their TV divisions in hopes of turning around their struggling TV business

I have NO desire for anything 3D, and I am an early adopter. I also have no BR hardware. All the industry wants is a new marketing thing to get our money. Not mine

Sure you do, you have the PCH. That plays BR.

The only reason I have 3D is because the 2D picture on the set was outstanding and I got the glasses for 25 bucks for the pair. It's fun occasionally. But I agree, I don't think it will be in the mainstream for long.

But DON'T try and take away my PCH........

Of course 3DTV has not taken off like Panasonic & Sony had hoped for because that was the current advantage over the yum cha manufacturers, but really, the reality is Panasonic and Sony cannot compete in their current form in manufacturing with Chinese yum cha companies.

So what happens is Pana & Sony will close a number of their manufacturing plants and outsource to China yum cha, so we end up with rebranded shit because of our insatiable desire to buy good product for next to nothing. We all end up losing out ultimately.

Sheesh, you call yourself an early adopter, but after almost 4 years when the HD-DVD vs BD war ended, you still don't own a BD player?

I agree that 3D has had a difficult start, but it doesn't look like it will go away anytime soon. The price difference between 2D and 3D TVs is not that big anymore. Even mid range TVs are starting to come standard in 3D.

The 3D BD titles are rapidly increasing and consumers can buy more and more devices to create their own 3D content. Hell, even an affordable phone like the SE Experia Mini can shoot 3D panorama photos. When you spend some more money you can buy a LG or HTC phone that has two lenses to shoot 3D photos and video.

More and more niche products like helmet cams are also going 3D: http://gopro.com/hd-hero-accessories/3d-hero-system/

Being a true early adopter means you will risk buying products that will never make it into the mainstream (Laserdisc anyone?) and that you pay ridiculous prices, as products haven't hit mass production levels yet.

So according to my definition you completely fail as an early adopter.

I think I may qualify, my first VCR, which was a JVC with a remote (wired) cost me $1400.00. and the blank tapes were 40 bucks. Back then I took it on payments for 1 year. And about a year later they came out with the first movie you could buy and own to watch whenever you like. The Sound of Music for the low price of $175.00. No, I didn't buy that.

If thats all you've got, I tend to agree you may not be an early adopter....now if you expanded....and said

first plamsa...check
first LCD screen ...check...
First DVD player...check
First XBOX, PS3, WII, Mac, Blackberry, Iphone, IPOD nano, IPOD touch, projector, 3 chip projector, led projector, BR player, HP Tablet, Asus Tablet, recievers, media players,....

Given you have a PCH.....though your likely in the same boat as the rest of us on "the bleeding edge" of this much maligned electronic device and you deserve that title...as we all have had to put up with the corporate PCH nonsense of...ohhh we're we suppose to give you that feature....oh yes we realize we said it could do it...but that will be next year.... I digress....still waiting on my new C-200 power supply, no rush on the new firmware....take your time folks.....just sayin...

Cheers,

Requis
