(sigh) You were telling me they don't deliver on saturdays. I was telling you they did, I never said it applied to all their services (just works with next day, second day and international). I was just saying it's something DHL could offer too, to compete better. Since Popcorn seems to ship on Fridays in Hong Kong, it's something that could be offered to the customer when ordering (if you want to pay extra to have it delivered over the weekend).

Anyway, they also have saturday pick-ups, and UPS stores are also open for sending and receiving packages Saturdays and Sundays (some of them). I know because I've picked up packages on saturday, instead of waiting until monday, but you have to call in advance and arrange for it (friday, probably).

But just because you haven't done it, it doesn't mean it's not possible. They might be a big company, but sometimes they are flexible, letting you pick after hours (in case they missed you), or arrange for alternate delivery if they have a local UPS store within the premises.

IP Geolocation is not 100% accurate. It depends on databases that ARIN (American Registrry for Internet Numbers) manages, and they are updated every couple of months.

Sometimes large IP blocks are assigned, moved, traded, exchanged from one provider to another, even from one country to another, and the database gets updated months later.

Dear me.Rolleyes

If you want to pay even more for your shipping, and those from USA usually get it far cheaper than the rest of the world, you can pay to have dancing girls turn up with it on a Sunday!!

The guy was simply telling you that you had no chance of getting it on a Saturday as like when UPS delivered Popcorns it costs too much and they get delivered Mon - Friday. Occasionally as DHL do subcontract in some places that third party may decide to deliver it on a Saturday but you are not paying for that level of service.

Hi, the costs above are correct, that comes to about 160 quid. Also when your box hits uk, you'll get a call from DHL to make a payment (guess for VAT etc) before delivery. I was out yesterday, so her indoors made the payment with her card, it was £34.18. So total is about £200.00 all in, and mines coming Tuesday. Certainly beats waiting for UK stock, (unless of course it's damaged and then it'd be a bit of a nightmare...... but lets be positive). The tracking along the route and everything has been great so far, so I expect I will be ordering another through this route for November delivery. Hope this helps a little.

It's a pity that this thread is now completely ruined by "Mine got shipped", "It's in Delaware!", "@#$@#$@ UPS", etc. Can't this chat be done elsewhere?

This thread was about the introduction, ordering and shipping of the new A-300, just got carried away with the excitement of getting the new player.

I'm sure that now that people are starting to recieve the units a new thread will be started about performace, setup etc. This thread is getting too long now and will probably die off soon anyway.

Just checked and there is a new thread of the latest FW. http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=55789

i've picked up something from dhl over the weekend before delivery. i'm not sure the specifics to doing that since it's been awhile but if you see it sitting in your local hub might be worth a call.

Did your tracking say released with charge or did they just ring you as I have had no call and wondered if it would get delivered today?

They just rang on Saturday, missus took the call, and paid the dosh. The tracking didn't say relased with charge. It just said clearance processing complete at East Midlands, that was at 04.00 am on Saturday morning. We didn't get the phone call till Saturday afternoon. The tracking went, Hong Kong, Leipzig, East Midlands , Edinburgh, Glasgow. They told the missus that it would be with me Tuesday but it arrived at Glasgow depot at 06.55 this morning, so maybe I'll get it today. I've read that because of the import classification there is no import duty, so the £34.18 is maybe VAT at 20%, which would be about right.

Thanks doddsg2 I went and picked mine up and paid the £34.18 VAT as soon as I saw it was at the delivery location saying Shipment held - Available upon receipt of payment.

Just setting up now and only problem I had was the wireless dongle would not find any acccess points. This is resolved by the latest firmware update.

I start it testing my A-300.
After hooking up the box and using the Wire Network I turn on the box. First thing it ask me If I want to Update to new Firmware and I did it. The I setup the box with All Sound Pass through.
Then I start-up a movie Transformers 3 Blu-ray ISO. The movie start up in few second and sound come out Dolby Thru-HD 7.1 then I switch a sound to Dolby Digital with Pressing the Audio Button and it switched with out problem then I switch it back to Dolby Thru-HD 7.1 and No Sound. For some reason I could not get back the 7.1 back until I stooped the Movie and Start it back.

So far that's all for now. Huh
