Not if they want to play Blu-Rays from their internal Blu-Ray drive.

The AACS keys need to be updated once every year, so you cannot simply stay on an old firmware if you want to be able to play the newer Blu-Rays.. Sad

Yes for the new UI please.

But at least I'm glad the result of the poll is pretty clear and there's not too much doubts...
As I said, a 55%-45% result would have been a very though choice and would have then disappointed +-half of the forum readers, whatever choice you would've made.

From what I remember AACS updates are 18 months (but don't quote me).

So Gaya firmware will still be viable for 12 months. I think it's enough time for user developers who are still interested in the platform to port over or what we maybe forgetting is there will be a new crop of user developers just waiting for the new UI because that is their skillset.

And since the current beta is for Gaya, those beta testers are still active to ensure we get the best firmware out and get as much of the kinks worked out. To be honest I like the current firmware myself and aside from a few niggles I can be honest that if it's the last firmware I'll use, I'm content.

Even if the new UI is released, I still have to wait for the A200 firmware so I can completely migrate my existing setup from HTML to Flash based jukeboxes.

I decided not to upgrade. I only hope that Syabas will release new AACS keys for us on the old FW without making us go to flash, when the time comes for this change.

Can't they just release the "small" updates that would on-line update the AACS key without touching the firmware itself? So it would be possible to update the keys also for the old SDK and Gaya devices? Why with AACS it is forced to "reflash" the whole firmware?

Why keep this poll open? The result is very clear to 85%!
We want the new UI. Period.

Can I ask for confirmation of two things:

1. Will multi-mount be implemented or easily implemented into the new native UI with a single jukebox? If no, I'm sticking with Eversion.

2. Assuming #1 is no, will there be a simple way to autostart Eversion on launch (script or something else)? Really key to WAF.

Happy to consider move to native once #1 is solved, but I think I read there's still no multi-mount, so have to stick with Eversion until that happens.

Good question, Werner any answer about this?
I asked it a few times, others did too but still no answer...
And this was already a main demand even before the announcement of the A300...

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?! - werner - 10-11-2011 09:04 PM

you mean a centralized db is it? if thats the question then the answer right now is no, we are discussing that feature currently but for us first it was more important to improve the performance and not doing something which is something against performance Tongue, because the performance is in my eyes now very good we can discuss this feature again, it should be very easy todo, you can do it already when you use junctions on Windows or mount the shares into one folder Wink.

Multimounts is no issue that is also in last 200er series beta firmware, for the flash api it is also no issue.

Regards,
Werner

you can't make it into html because there is no html Wink
but you will be able to use a flash app where you can add it into a xml file Tongue

PHP Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<player>
    <playMode>3</playMode>
    <medias>
        <media>
            <title>Discovery Science</title>
            <url>udp://239.2.44.122:1234</url>
        </media>
    </medias>
    <enableSeek>true</enableSeek>
</player>

Great! It is time to learn xml Huh
What about slideshow resolution? Will it be 1920x1080 already?

By the way, I am very disappointed about your intention to completely eliminate HTML browser (is that true?) I use it sometimes despite its limitations. I supposed that using of flash technology could enforce the browser with flash video based websites support. As for me a decent imbedded web browser is more important than imbedded jukebox.
