why would you need to learn xml Wink i already gave you the xml you will need Big Grin, we will give out a simple app first, where you can use what i posted, then you just start the phf file and it will start the stream, maybe we will release also one where you can add more Smile, currently i have just a testapp where you only can add one, i used it to test it on the popbox v8.

If the new UI will come then the browser will go yes.

Slideshow Resolution is 1080p so what do you mean?

What about slideshow resolution? Will it be 1920x1080 already?

By the way, I am very disappointed about your intention to completely eliminate HTML browser (is that true?) I use it sometimes despite its limitations. I supposed that using of flash technology could enforce the browser with flash video based websites support. As for me a decent imbedded web browser is more important than imbedded jukebox.

This is very old story. As I proved in my thread confirmed by other PCH experts GAYA UI supports maximum resolution of 720x1280 for FullHD displays. That means it downscales to 720x1280 all still images (photos) of greater resolution. When one uses USB port of FullHD TV for photos slideshow, the panel displays images with 1080x1920 resolution. When one uses PCH it displays the same images with 720x1280 resolution.
Will it be now 1080x1920 with new flash UI?

the photo viewer can be used to display images at 1080p.

Yes for me too

Even if I can't see after watching the videos big improvements for music (tag management !, I'm using C-200 75% to manage my classical music collection based on flac) there is a big hope, that sooner or later this area comes in the focus of the developers. In opposite direction there is no more hope hat it could be the case under Gaya. Ok, I will loose a small self-developed html-solution too but ... for the moment I feel free to decide whether I will update or not.

Almost everything I'm using today for music (flac, mp3), video (mpg, mp4) and photo (jpg) is working well for ME on C-200 (I have in mind basic function - play the files). What I really need is a comfortable management of flac tags (multiple tags for artists, composer, conductor ...)

It is great if it so!

Werner, may I have a beta build to test the issues that I mentioned?Tongue
By the way I keep a bunch of bugs connected with UDP streams playback. As soon as this was undeclared feature before I did not report them.

I like the new GUI, also a faster gui on the C200 is a big +.

I do vote YES for the New UI

cant you just open source the gaya component and let people who need it maintain it themselves? Wink Hehe

it was said way back in the thread that users have the option of using the flash ui by purchasing the a300, well i think the other way is true also, if you dont want the flash ui keep your 200 series in the past and dont update the firmware.

personally i think it is great to have the opportunity for my c200 and a210 to be bought along for the ride into the future.

my media players are for playing media, something tells me there could be better control options going forward with the new ui, i am hoping for easier implementation of android and other devices as keyboards/remotes etc.

please someone comment because at the moment when you look at devices like tivo and boxee with their apps, they are gaining more traction.

i work in the home theater industry (sorry not a coder so purely looking at all this from the consumer angle) and the consumer these days want one thing mostly, connected personal devices and control over wifi made very easy.

i voted yes...i will never have the time to get all the covers etc together (3.5 TB c200) and unfortunately most didnt either. i just have my basic folder structure as new movies are added every week.

my 2 cents

I also vote yes for the ui update because, in the end i think we all do benefit of it as development on the 200 can move on and also it will bring up the unit a level higher is it will than respond a lot better on the new nice looking ui.

Honestly i think if this upgrade could already be released last year, the c200 should be even more populair as it is already is now.
I believe that the new ui tackle one serious bug down, that's the speed of it's current ui and it also give us way better more professional ui look for free as a bonus.

zoon01

Nothing stopping them from making something better now or previously (and yes a few have been trying)

YAMJ will work with the new flash UI. You have to use the Eversion skin system on top of YAMJ to generate the Flash jukebox. It's not strictly a skin as it can use many different skins

[OT] Why on earth are you using a PCH to play flac music? Obviously you enjoy lossless music, but seriously a media player is not the way you should play music like that.

You need to pick something with a better and specialised DAC, even something like Sonos would serve you better than a PCH (No disrespect to PCH, but their DAC isn't designed for this sort of sound playback)

I voted no as at the moment I use YAMJ with AEON Skin. This is generated on my NAS and both my C-200 and A-110 can use the same jukebox. If (when) we get this new UI then I will have to run two seperate Jukeboxes everytime I add new media.

Hi All,

Am I the first person to think that maybe running on these devices a Android platform would be better?

It is a fantastic OS, and can be pretty much made to fit anything. I was looking around an in the US they have already developed a Microwave with it and Washing machine.

Basically you get more advance microwave, tell it what you cooking and it will cook it the best way it knows how. Same with washing your cloths.

I have seen Android set top boxes also. Have a look at this example, the interesting thing is the two remotes, one appears to be almost touch screen like, but on a blank facia pad.

What are peoples thoughts on this. Syabase pay attention you could save yourselves alot of time, money and effort!!

What is everyone elses thoughts. I am going to have a look at getting my C200 up and running on Android. Possibly 3.1. Watch this space.
