That's a HUGE NO on my part!

Completly agree. Terrible Sad

This is essentially why you have to urge the skin makers to start replicating their current HTML skins in Eversion which gives them way more onscreen room to work with Big Grin. The HTML skin i use is no longer in development so its more of a DIY. So now my days are trying to code the Aeon Indiana Wall with the Sabish low list mod (movies details page only) inside Eversion.

Eversion is faster than the previous HTML skin i used when changing pages, and when the GAYA is ripped out it will be even faster but skinners must start porting over their HTML skins now to get the bugs out before everyone is slammed with the firmware update that will kill their HTML jukebox that they have grown to love over the years.

Trust me, you want a flash skin, i could not believe ow much screen space the HTML skin did not allow you to use, its insane!Big Grin

Well, actually...

The correct "total possible votes" can only be "C-200 owners who are (active) forum members."

I don't think it's a democracy, it's a statistical certainty... 85 to 15 won't change much even when every owner voted.

The thing that needs to be answered is what level of bugfixes can users expect who choose to stay on the Gaya HTML GUI path.
Jukebox developers should clearly claim minimal support requirement and maybe start their own poll asking all users if their solution should remain supported by Syabas or be declared End of Life after the release of NMJ2.

actually the forum votes would be the most skewed out of all. people that dont visit the forum more then likely dont run 3rd party apps or html skins they use the stock box so there vote would be more then likely be a yes. This way syabas got all the replies on how the developers and things would feel the most

After having thought much about it, I voted Yes.

But...

I really think that Syabas needs to be very supportive to all those developers who have made the Popcorn such a popular device. After all, lots of its popularity stems to the fact that it was very easy to make some additional apps, using freely available tools.

The examples currently provided by Syabas are only useful if you have the Adobe Flash environment (costs about 500 euros), and are impossible to build using free tools. If they provide some examples which can be build using free tools (like FlashDevelop), that would be very helpful.

If someone succeeded in building these examples, I'm greatful if you can show me how! Other examples are also welcome.

Werner,

Any updates from HQ in regards to the new firmware for the 200 series?

Is it currently being tested or not?

Seems like an age since the last update!

Give them a chance to decide.. werner said it would be a couple weeks before they know. asking isn't going to speed it up.

People haven't even got the first A-300 shipment. You can bet this will be A-300 exclusive for at least a few months to further increase sales of the new model.

I really don't expect the 200 series to be getting this until Q1 2012 or so. Try not to get your hopes up on it being out soon.

I see you've came around... just the other day you were saying Eversion wasn't as good at your old HTML skins. 1 down... thousands to go. Like 90% of the people in here voting no, people just haven't given Eversion a chance. They can hold on to Aeon and whatever skin they are using, but soon or later they will be forced to drop it. Even if they don't upgrade their FW, soon or later they'll need a new PCH and it will be flash only. I don't see why people want to delay the inevitable.

HTML skins are dead, the best thing you can do now is post in your favorite HTML skins and ask them to start making it in Eversion. In the mean time I suggest people start using the stock Eversion, as it's amazing and easily customizable for people with no coding knowledge. When/if their favorite HTML skin ports over, then they can easily use that skin on Eversion. Putting time into HTML skins (both for creators and users of HTML skins) is in my opinion a waste of time at this point. They should be focusing on flash, Eversion has already done the hard part for them.

Yea....after removing the clock, media info, ratings, centering the movie name, and turning off the caps on the movie ive grown to love it.

I think a few users here mentioned something about Mymovies and the HTML interface, i do not think that ties in. Also most people do not like change......i bet these are the same people still on Win XP Tongue

Most of the html skinners are on a100s, I don't see them stopping for awhile.

I'm really torn by this - On the one hand I'd love to have the flashy updated UI, on the other it would mean saying goodbye to Oversight; arguably the best dynamic jukebox out there and not being a flash programmer, I'd be kicked out of the dev community too!

Is it, with flash, still posible to access the popcorn without the tv. I love to listen to music and use this with the help of my laptop.
I dont want to turn the tv on to listen to music.

Is this possible with flash?

RE: New UI for 200er Series, same as A-300 UI?! - bkejser - 10-25-2011 03:20 PM

I'm confused. Why would you want to use Flash?

Flash is on the way out and HTML 5 is going to take its place. This may take some time but it is inevitable.
