I filed two bug threads on the 'sometimes box turns off when you try and wake it from screensaver' issue, but never got any response from werner or anyone else official:

It's a very frustrating bug and I'm deeply disappointed it *still* hasn't been fixed. I paid the not inconsiderable price for the PCH on the belief that I at least wouldn't have to deal with this kind of crappy bug. It's ridiculous that this and the 'pause every 22 dirs' bug have been around since November.

Also the A300 is still unable to read my 24bits 192Khz FLAC files! It "plays" but no sound is produced

Hi,
I have just recieved my A-300 and it is prompting me to update the firmware; but each time I try it displays the error "Updating Firmware Erro17".
I have tried both the internet and the USB methods with the same results.
The Current firmware is 05-01-111011-23-POP.
The kernel is 23-POP

HDMI or SPdif to receiver?
I'm fine on HDMI to my Onkyo..

I tried the test files, they all played normally except the wma ones that produced no sound.

is it set to passthrough? if so does your reciever do WMA coded?
So 24bits 192Khz FLAC was fine?

I was just listening to a regular FLAC file, then the A300 shutdown in the middle of the song, TV got turned on since it lost the HDMI signal, then I got the "POPCORN HOUR Looading ..." white logo on black background then nothing. It's still there after 5 minutes and going on...

thank you werner, now thats something. the issue i have is, the movie is fine until the subtitles come up, when they appear (subtitles) i have a black screen and the movie just play on the background of the subtitles (weird) i quit using the last firmware, i'm using the October firmware, is the solution for me to watch my movies...

Also found that US mkv file + french SRT crashes the A300 systematically after a time jump + 2minutes of seamingly "normal play after a fast forward".

As I am in the UK there isn't any telephone support; but a raised a support ticket on the Popcorn Hour Help & Support site last thursday and I am still waiting for a response, even an acknoledgement would be nice.
Any one have any thoughts that may help me resolve this issue?
I am also experiencing a number of oher problems such as:
- When using NMJ the A-300 locks up when a video finishes playing and does not return to the jukebox requiring unplugging at the mains.
- Some DIVX files which play on all my other devices, which include a A.C. Ryan Playon!HD2 and a Android tablet, cause the PCH to crash.
- When using some apps, but not all, video stops playing directly after the intro video.
I don't want to raise support tickets for these untill I manage to update the firmware in the hope that it fixes them.

Hi Werner, can you confirm when the next fw will be released? Cause at this point is want to sell my A300.
There are to many bugs at the moment. My A300 freezes during movies (in allmost every movie at the moment) but the sound dont.
The A300 is very slow whit scanning the 1,5TB HDD. And somethimes i have to wait a couple of minutes before i can choose a movie i want to see.
It bugs me that NMJ still doesnt work correctly and i only use search by file name.

Hi, I really don't understand why you want to dump your A300.
I have mine for a couple of weeks and works like a charm!
Really responsive and all movies just play perfect, with subs, DTS-HD MA, Dolby true-HD, menu's, the works.
I would rather check your set-up of your A300 AND your network/NAS/whatever...
I'm using a QNAP TS219p on a D-Link DIR-825 router with CAT-6 UTP.
When this doesn't resolve your problems I think you should RMA the A300, then I guess it's a hardware fault.
