Can't delete files downloaded with transmission - Firebird! - 02-28-2012 01:53 PM

It seems that I can't delete anything downloaded with transmission from my computer. Saying that "You need permission to perform this action. You require permission from Unix User\root to make changes to this file". The only option that works for me is use the file mode from the popcorn itself.
Is there is any easy way to do it from the computer?

What NMT series? What Transmission version (Firmware, CSI or LTU)?

you need to adjust your unpack scripts to either chown nmt:nmt to change the owner to nmt instead of root

@halfelite
I don't think they would be running an unpack script with the default firmware.

So, for the default firmware your only solution is probably to create a "script-torrent-done-filename" in settings.json and point that to a script that like halfelite suggested chown's your download dir to the "nmt" user.

Another solution would be to use either the CSI Transmission package, or the LTU package. They both let the Transmission daemon run as "nmt" user so you can always edit your downloads.

Are the files still being seeded by Transmission?
I think you need to stop them (and delete from transmission list) first

It's quite difficult to make sense of your post. Can you explain your problem again?

The filemanager of the PCH hides I believe any files it can't play. But we were talking about managing the file from a network share on your PC. So I don't understand you any more.

remember that the NMT Apps torrent app is Transmission v.2.13 from memory. So you already have a version of transmission available through the stock NMT Apps.

Do you really need to update? If you do then be prepared to learn what you are doing and put some effort into your posts and details.
