Hi All!

http://www.treasure-cove.net/moviejukebox.htm

Revision 5 is now up and ready for your use.

1. All filenames are changed, so as not to interfere with previous versions.
2. Instead of editing and changing .xsl files, etc ... now, .. all of the variables are entered in the Export program itself.
3. All user variables are now saved in the registry which will prevent re-entering data when a new revision is released.
4. The Export program is very user friendly, which should allow even a novice to sucessfully export, view, select and play movies using My Lil Movie Jukbox.
5. You now can 'easily' change the exported genres/filters to match your tastes and viewing habits. 20 genres/filters can be setup.
6. Before, the index always included ALL MOVIES. Now, using "filter 100", you can "exclude" any movies that you do not want to appear in the main index..
7. My Lil Movie Jukebox can export and setup movies located in 5 separate locations in your system.
8. New variables now make it easy to change how many movie covers are displayed across each page, .. the size of the thumbnails, and how many thumbnails are displayed per page.
9. Actor / Director Bio pages with 400 entries.

By all means, check it out! I think you'll agree that this is the most advanced, yet easy to use, release yet!! You won't be diappointed!

take care

I have a new eGreat EG-M31B with the latest (080808-403) firmware.

I can play media files directly off of an external HFS+ formatted USB stick.

I can of course play media files directly off the internal HDD.

But I cannot copy from an external HFS+ USB stick to the internal HDD.

If I go into the USB stick and select a few files using the "FILE MODE" button, and then navigate onto the internal HDD and press "FILE MODE" again to try and do a "Copy listed items here" (or "Move listed items here"), it starts to do it but as soon as the target file has been created and it starts to copy, a pop-up message comes up that says "Alert!!!" and underneath "System fault".

And nothing is copied

Perhaps both the USB stick and the internal HDD have to both be formatted in the same way (same filesystem type - EXT2 in my case) for this to work? (Which makes no sense, but hey, as long as I'm grasping at straws ... )

If so, then I have a big problem - the 3rd-party EXT2 driver in Mac OS X writes files really slowly, and to make matters worse, whatever process that does the writes onto an EXT2-mounted volume hangs at the end and gets stuck in "D" (I/O wait) state. Only a reboot cures the problem.

We are proud to Introduce you to our new NMT media player, the HDX 1000. Born in the same pedigree of the successful HDX 900 our new model catches up with the current hardware specifications while we reduced the expense on the units. We hope you agree we have outdone ourselves by creating an even more kick-ass feature packed digital media player. Our HDX 1000 is now equipped with HDMI 1.3a and capable of passing through the latest HD digital audio format such as DTS-HD MA, DTS-HD HR, Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus.

We have acquired the necessary license to decode DTS to avoid customers need to have a DTS decoder or convert their .dts movies. This increases the convenience for the customer! (To be added via firmware update in September)

Besides the usual enhancements available from our competitors, we have included both Optical and Coaxial audio and a 3-in 1 Card reader (Memory Stick, SDHC and MMC) enabling direct access to photo and music files. We are a strong believer in efficiency for home entertainment and it should not come as a surprise we sticked to our believe of having a fan less quality design by using an aluminium alloy again.

Hi everyone,

I set up NZBget on my Egreat, and it has been working perfectly. However, following a power cut yesterday, the web interface has stopped working (the NMT still downloads NZBs if I FTP them into the nzb folder).

It's simply not listening on port 8066 - I can't telnet to it from my PC on that port. Going to "My Network Places" and double clicking on the NMT icon does bring up the web browser with the choice of "Torrent" and "Media", so I'm guessing HTTP is working OK - just not whatever controls it listening on that port.

I tried re-flashing the firmware and reinstalling the NMT applications (though did the typical setup as I didn't want to lose all the files on my HD).

If required, I can install and use Telnet on it, if anyone can give me a clue where any logs might be written to, or how the web services for NZBget are started.

Thanks,

Hi,

Just received my A-100 here in the UK and my initial thoughts are very positive; the device works well and plays pretty much all that I've thrown at it. It's obvious to me that the people who've designed it have thought properly about how it'll be used so well done!

Got one question though - all my current media is stored on a NAS and shared using SMB and is simply shared with a name of 'media' and under the root are three directories; video, music and photos.

Is there any way of, when I select the Movies icon on screen, for the PCH to go straight to my 'video' directory without me having to specifically select it? Likewise for photos and music.

I've not tried MyIHome or the various alternatives, mostly because the majority of my video is in the form ISO images of ripped DVDs which, if I've read the wiki correcty, aren't supported by anything other than SMB or NFS.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, all.

About a week ago, my Popcorn Hour A-110 arrived. I was very excited, as every review I found and every forum posting I read made it sound like it would be an excellent successor to my aging Xbox Media Center, finally bringing my media into the high definition age.

Unfortunately, in the week I've had the Popcorn Hour, it has not lived up to my expectations. I wanted to share some of my experiences here. I'll be happy to answer any questions or concerns any of you may have with this post.

User Interface:

The user interface really doesn't work well. Any UI operation feels extremely slow and not very responsive. For example, lists populated with movies, pictures, or music don't scroll; they jump to new pages with very long pauses while the next items are read.

The 'Remember to always back up your hard disk...' full screen message is annoying.

The repeat on the remote control is dodgy; most of the time, I can't get it to work at all.

The Popcorn Hour's user interface is bland. It doesn't have any wow factor, like the Xbox Media Center, PS3, or Xbox 360. On a widescreen display, several of the screens and text look squished. The text isn't antialiased, and all in all, the Popcorn Hour just doesn't look polished.

The Xbox Media Center, PS3, and Xbox 360 all have really nice user interfaces. The Xbox Media Center's and PS3's, in particular, are ultra response with quick scrolling and easy navigation.

The Xbox Media Center has a really cool grouping feature that the Popcorn Hour is missing. I can give it a list of shares and hard drive locations in a user-defined group called 'Movies on Network', and it reads all the files from each share and unifies them into one list, as if the files all existed at the same location in the first place.

Video:

Out of any commercial device I've used, the Popcorn Hour successfully plays the most videos in my collection without issue, including hi-def versions. It even played a DVD .iso I made. Only the non-commercial Xbox Media Center for a modded Xbox plays more media (all, in fact), excluding the hi-def video. In contrast, a PS3 and Xbox 360 refuse to read the majority of my video collection.

The Popcorn Hour had serious aspect ratio issues on the first hi-def video I played, and I had to force the Popcorn Hour to 720p (which is all my projector could handle) and change an aspect ratio setting. From that point on, everything looked good.

Unfortunately, the playback controls aren't very user friendly. Most were found by trial and error, since the documentation is virtually non-existent. Pressing the left or right arrow on the remote control lets you choose how far to seek in 30 second increments. No progress bar is shown; only some 'Seek' text appears with a time index. The seek doesn't happen immediately. It takes around 2 seconds after pressing the right or left arrow to finally react to my input and seek to the new location.

Music:

The music playback is very lacking. Among other issues, the Popcorn Hour refused to automatically play the next file in the folder. The playback controls were also not very good, although having access to the controls from the remote was better than the Xbox 360's music playback interface.

The Xbox Media Center and PS3 both incrementally play the list of files. The Xbox Media Center can have playlists. All of the consoles also support cool visualizers. The Popcorn Hour just shows a background image during playback.

Pictures:

The picture playback was incredibly slow with a minimum of 3 seconds to load the picture. I could find no way to go to the next picture, although I was able to turn on a slideshow mode at some point. I don't know how I did that (no real documentation), and it wasn't repeatable.

On a PS3, I can blow through the pictures in record time. On the Xbox Media Center, it runs a little slower than the PS3, but not by much and probably due to the different in hardware processing power and huge 10 megapixel images.

Reboot:

I have to reboot the Popcorn Hour all the time. Sometimes, a music file, picture, or video that wouldn't play before will actually work after a reboot. Often, they have the appearance of starting playback and then go back to the menu.

Anyway, I'm going to send it back. It has far too many issues with regard to what I've been used to. I do hope everyone else is happy with their purchase, and I'll continue to watch for Popcorn Hour to receive the more user friendly features it desperately needs.

My question here is does anyone know of a script or a plug-in for SABnzbd that would issue a "move" command for a file after it has finished extracting? Most specifically this script would need to know how to move files across the network to the PCH itself. Also would the PCH need to have some sort of Wake-on-LAN built in?

I realize that the PCH itself has built in usenet support now but I've got an Intel Quad-Core here that just loves crunching Par files and processing Rars.

Hi

i'm totally a newbie, and i downloaded YAMJ yesterday and testing it right now.

here are few questions crossing my mind:

1. say i create the list and everything works well, and in a week, i add new movies, how do i get it updated? do i need to run the script all over again?

2. I have my files on a NAS (Synology CubeStation CS407), i have it mapped to my laptop with drive Z:\. It's taking at least 20-30 minutes to get all things done, is this normal?

Thanks

additional things forgot to mention:

3. When i go to "videos" on my PCH, i dont get to see the index.htm file generated, but if i go to the fourth icon, which i think is "data", i can see it. is that normal?

4. is there a way to create a shortcut to the index.htm on the main menu on PCH, so i can easily access the movies index?

good luck

There I can remotely browse my files on the PCH HDD and also play(stream) all music from my PCH in Windows Media Player 10 in my Web Browser, really nice!

But when it comes to video the fun stops.

The Windows Media window appears, it starts saying "connecting...", but then nothing more?

I even have to abort internet explorer through the Task Manager, since it is no longer responding to anything, it is stuck.

What can I do to get this to work? I don't expect any HQ HD streams, but at least the smaller could work, wouldn't it?

Any response or comments would be of help.
