RE: Introducing: Popcorn Poweroff Module (PPM) => Finished boards! (page 3)
how can it be that you have received yours while others are still waiting for the items to be finished so they can pay for it.
i am second on the waiting list so please explain this (03-04-2009 12:00 PM)Chees Wrote: Just received mine Yesterday. Installation was a peace of cake and it immediately worked ! |

I´m not sure I have any obligation to you to explain...
Having said this, I ordered mine before the first batch. So please hold your breath, yours will be send what was agreed upon. |

Hello,
Yes it is as Chees said.. that he ordered before we started with a batch at all.. so he jumped in early.. as we had at that point just a few PCB... but did not had the components to build them all in one ![]() So we started an batch to see if more people were interessted. Then we could buy the components all in one (because you must order above an price with some companies). And then we had some problems that not all components were at stock and we had to wait some time (including Chees)... And now we have everything and will build them as soon as possible to send them to all who had orderd one.Regards, Joost and Marc Popcorn Poweroff Module Forum: http://ppm.forum2go.nl/ |

RE: Introducing: Popcorn Poweroff Module (PPM) => Finished boards! (page 3)
I'm confused--it looks like the pom sits on top of the power connecter for the hard drive, and then plugs-in also to a header kitty-corner from it on the board, thus consuming both power sources on the board? Where do I plug-in my auxiliary cooling fan? My internal hard drive?

Quote:Where do I plug-in my auxiliary cooling fan? The same place you plug it now, the POM doesn't touch the fan header. As far as I know the main unit plugs on the UART header but it isn't actually electrically connected, its just a way of mounting the POM above the LED's so it can sense whether they are on or not. |

RE: Introducing: Popcorn Poweroff Module (PPM) => Finished boards! (page 3)
I'm being STOOPID, because I haven't bothered to crack-open my A100 to look at it, but that picture looks like the POM is covering the connector I used for my aux fan (no hdd in mine). So I guess I must ASSuME that my fan connector would plug-in to the side of the POM somehow, but frankly that still isn't obvious from any pics, including the one you linked J/M.

See the post below, this module as far as I know is only for the A110 that has a power switch. You unplug the wire where the red power switch connects to the motherboard and plug the POM into the socket on the A110 motherboard.

RE: Introducing: Popcorn Poweroff Module (PPM) => Finished boards! (page 3)
Great work Guys!
i already signed up for Batch 003. Great mod for the lazy people who don't want to get up to switch a button. The price you pay will pay itself back in energy savings pretty soon. My PCH-A110 Stats | Samsung LE32A656 | Logitech Z-2300 | Harmony One Oversight | |

Hi,
I just want to state that this really works great. I got mine couple of months ago and I really like it and I am using it every day to shut it down during night. |
