YouTube, Hulu and Netflix

Hi all,

I've read the YouTube thread, esp about the latest release in Jan 2012, but I've got some questions.

I'd like these 3 services on my PCH C-200.
I'm running the latest firmware, June 2011.
I haven't installed any other apps or even changed anything since the last firmware update.

Looking around the forum, I'm seeing mixed posts about needing PlayOn and am just wondering, what do I have to do, to get these 3 services to work on my PCH C-200? Or are only some of these available to me?

youtube is the only one available from the pch. the others are not an option but some use other software like playon to play video from these via the upnp support of the pch. Don't need to ask, the pch does not meet the security requirements to add these services and they will not be coming to any existing units (I say existing because you never know if the chipsets in the future that don't exist yet could support it, it's not some fancy speak for a new player coming out does have it)

Well, thanks for that information.

I find it somewhat disappointing though, that I've what I'd consider the Rolls Royce of media players, but my friends Toyota just has more ... he bought a new WDTV Live and it has all these features, plus others...

We can not have Netflix or Hulu on the PCH because it is an open platform, which is what I love about it. Only media players that are locked down can offer Netflix and Hulu.

By open I mean we can get in there and do whatever we want with the system. Many applications can be developed, etc etc. With a locked one you can't do anything other than what they let you.

You get BBCiPlayer which you dont on other players. Plus onlinetvrecorder which enables you to record most UK channel programes.
