PCH A-210 with QNAP TS-412
Hi.
I have just got a Qnap TS-412 to replace my internal & external drives that I use to store my backed up movies which I play on PCH. Could anyone tell me which is the best way to set this up. There are 2 ethernet ports on the back of the Qnap, should I use 1 of them to go directly into the PCH, or is it best if I feed this to my router then from the router to my PCH? Do I use Samba? And advive would be truely welcome. |

RE: PCH A-210 with QNAP TS-412
Just plug one into your router. the two are usually used for load balancing/fail over but in a home you just need one. And you could use samba or nfs. either one will be fine.

RE: PCH A-210 with QNAP TS-412
Thanks halelite.
I have found so far 'it is early days' that the Qnap nor PCH can be connected to a ethernet switcher, I was experiancing a lot of Audio drop out in DVD format, and Blu-rays wouldn't even play. I had: Qnap/router/switcher/PCH now using: Qnap/router/PCH If I still find I have audio drop out would I be better looking at replacing my router or going wireless? |
