Don't do it! The RC and the firmware before that are both full of bugs. Sick with the firmware you have until the next full release. If you upgrade to either of the RC or the one prior to that you will not be able to go back to the one you have now and you will be stuck with glitchy firmware for what sounds like some time to come.

i removed the drive from PCH and pch has started to work without any problem. i though that the HDD has a problem. i checked the HDD today, it seems that it`s so healthy. so what else could be ?

I wouldn't trust a "Windows" hard drive check even if it says it's "OK". I would download a bootable utility from the hard drive manufacturer's website and test with that. Most of the major manufacturer's will have a free utility to create a bootable CD and test the drive in both a quick mode and an in depth mode.

I don't know if it since this last release or the one before but I see that when playing music now hitting the "Info" button (At least that's what it is on my Harmony) brings up a screen that looks like it could contain lyrics.

However I have tried with files that have embedded lyrics in the tags as well as Naming a txt file the same as a song file and all I get is "No Lyric"

I can't find any info on this that might tell me what format etc... or where I could place the Lyrics for them to show up. Does anyone know how to make this work?

I found a topic on this forum about the issue. More people have this issue, but there is no real solution. Even after firmware upgrades the icon stays. But the icon only appears once the movie starts.

^^ just a guess but try this. set all your audio options to downmix open a video toggle the mute button on the remote does the icon disappear if so while its off the screeen hit power followed by eject pch will restart set all your audio back to whatever it was and see if fixed.

I dont think that that option is fully built in yet.

Ever since the last two firmware updates including the Public RC for the C-200. FLV files will not play. With blu-ray ISO's files if you stop them the player freezes. Maybe this will be fixed in the next firmware update. Is it possible for me to install the the previous firmware version 03-04-110530-21-POP-408-000. Thanks Roger

Yesterday i successfully installed RC firmware 03-04-120607-21-POP-408-000 and apps 03-04-111220-21-POP-408 to my PCH C-200.

Please add support for aac+ streams (streams with song titles). A lot of online radios using it.
Now are AAC+ streams silent on PCH C200 devices.
Ordinary AAC streams are ok.

I have tried to upgrade the firmware from post http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...?tid=62001 but it stuck at 12%.
Then after a reboot of C200 I received an information PLEASE INSERT AN USB DRIVE.
I did what was decribed at http://support.popcornhour.com/article.aspx?id=1089 but still no success.
Still display error ERR034 when I am trying to recover the firmware.
Please help.

ERR0034 is Failed to Format Flash partition.

Not sure what you have done from your post and whether or not you can get the player working. If not and combined with the failure at 12% I would suggest contacting support:-

or your retailer as the internal RAM could be having problems.

First though is to try a Recovery WITH a jumper:-
A. Power down the Popcorn Hour C-200.
B. Insert a jumper on uart0 (see http://files.syabas.com/popcornhour/down...jumper.jpg for exact location)
C. Plug the same USB thumbdrive with the same bin files into the Popcorn Hour C-200 USB port and the same component or composite or HDMI cables into the Popcorn Hour C-200 and TV. If these cables have not been removed since you followed steps 1-7, just leave them plugged in.
D. Power up the Popcorn Hour C-200
E. Follow steps number 5-7 above.
F. After the update process completed, power down the unit when the screen showing a message "rebooting in 10 seconds"
G. Remove the jumper.
H. Remove USB thumbdrive, component and/or composite cables.
I. Your Popcorn Hour will is now using 03-04-110531-21-POP-408-000 firmware.
J. Plug in desired connectors (HDMI, Component, Network, optical, etc.) and pat yourself on the back for successfully fixing your Popcorn Hour C-200.

If that's no go even with the jumper it does not look good.

Why C200 not support VideoCD (VCD ) ? It is strange that after inserting a VCD to drive it is not possible to copy files from such a disks....

Aug 14th I registered a Support Case but there is no answer.
Maybe if there is no Warranty then there is no Support.
Interesting approach.

I did that. That is why I put a recovery link into my question and Support Case. I tried with 2 different USB drives, NTFS and FAT32 formatted. Still error ERR034 appears after there is message FORMATTING.

I know that C200 uses a NAND FLASH and it is a very tricky memory.
But in my opinion there should some service method to put C200 back to work.
If there is not, then Syabas Technology Company is a very strange Company.

They posted they were moving offices and there will be support delays for a few weeks.

Just to be clear you did it with the jumper and the pch went into recovery mode with a recovery firmware?

I only remember a couple (2-4) posts over the past 2-3 years where users had to send their units in. At one point it was much more often but the last couple years it's really been quiet about needing to send it in for nand problems.

I've had mobile phones that needed to get repaired for their nand.. It's not unheard of.
