Need help adding a share to A-300
OK, so I can access my shared NFS folder from "networked media" and from YAMJ, but in the process of troubleshooting why movies would not play from YAMJ (when the did via "networked media") I was told to add a share. I did that, but I am not sure I got the name of the shared folder correct. IP address - check. But what about the folder? One "/" or two? How about a colon?
I tried one "/" and two, but up popped the login box with "invalid login." I had not set a username/password, and did not need it via "browsing" my movies. So I entered the username/password of the computer logon ... what I would use to access a shared folder (it's Win 7) from another computer on the network. Still no joy. I am not a sysadmin or an IT guru, but I am not completely clueless either. Nonetheless, the manual is worthless for this kind of thing, and these devices will never become mainstream as long as getting it to work is such an opaque process. [/rant] What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Jeff "The future is already here. It's just not evenly distributed." W. Gibson "I like the future. I'm in it." F. Theater |
