[Banditt]

Overview
A web page that shows current and forecast formatted for the PCH that you can link from your index.htm page. If you need to learn how to make an index.htm page - click here. I haven't looked into running pages from the hard disk, so a network connection is mandatory. There are two versions.

Changelog:
Version 1.3

1. Mainly to announce all the work done in the past month in case people don't read the 7 pages of posts.
2. Lots more maps added (post the image url of one that isn't there)
3. For outside the US you can add a real name so it won't just show FRX00123 (Inside US will display the airport)
4. Coming Soon: Theme Support
   

Version 1.2

1. Now works as a web service. See the Instructions for the different links to use. Old links from index.htm pages will still work.

1. Added Forecast Version
2. More maps added - should cover everyone now
3. Instructions page completed
4. Added a "Back" button to the bottom of each page
5. Various text changes
   

Issues:

1. Only the satellite version is available to those living outside the US. It costs $15/month to get international forecasts
2. Only HD versions are available
3. Must be connected to a network (remote page)
4. Need to release the template pages so people can make their own look

Can you also get a 5 day forecast to display?
I currently use a link to my SwissCenter page that shows the weather.
Also, GBPVR's weather plugin is something to look at as well.
I'm not knocking this, this is way cool as well. And I will be adding it on the web part of the menu.

1. Create a link on your index.htm page to: http://www.brettcharney.com/weather/?zip...map=wc&u=f
2. Edit the zip part (90210) with whatever your zip code is. If you are not us go to http://weather.yahoo.com/ and type in your location and on the page for your area copy the location code out of the URL. For example Paris France = http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/FRXX0076.html - the code is FRXX0076 - use that for zip: zip=FRXX076
3. Edit the map=w part to show the Doppler map for that region. United States Regions: sw (southwest), wc (west central), ne (northeast), ec (east central), se (southeast), nc (north central), c (central), sc (south central), nw (northwest). World Areas: eur (europe), sa (south america), asia (asia), aus (australia), afr (africa), ca (central america), uk (uk)
4. Edit the u= for Fahrenheit or Celsius, u=f or u=c
5. The example url above is for zip code 90210, shows the west central US map, and lists in Fahrenheit
   

Limitations:

• HD Only
• Must be connected to a network (remote page)

You have to make your own...or download one. It doesn't have one by default.

To find the code for your city: http://xoap.weather.com/weather/search/s...CITY_NAME.

Replace CITY_NAME with yours. If there are several cities with the same name you get the code for every city.

I tested http://www.brettcharney.com/weather/?zip...ap=eur&u=c at my PC and Firefox, it works fine.

When i navigate to the same URL with my NMT i see the US map and the forecast units in Fahrenheit. I don't know what i am doing wrong but i checked the URL twice.

What about adding countries maps? ie spanish map:
