Sad [AUDIO] mkv with flac = no audio
playing mkv file but no sound... the file has audio under FLAC. I'm using egreat m32b, looking at the specs of the m32b it says it supports FLAC audio but how come there is no sound when i played the mkv file?Undecided

And one more question, what should be the settings on the audio/video of egreat?
should it be set on -->stereo? or 5.1?
AC3--> analog? or digital (raw)?
AAC--> analog? or digital (raw)?
WMA--> analog? or digital (raw)?
Huh

RE: mkv with flac = no audio
FLAC is only supported as a stand-alone audio format - not embedded in .MKV files.

Your settings depend on whether or not you have your player connected to an external receiver/amplifier or not. If you have, you should set all the formats that the receiver supports (usually DTS and AC3) to Digital/RAW and the rest to Analog/PCM.

If you have a 6-speaker setup on your receiver/amplifier, set it to 5.1, otherwise set it to 2.0 (Stereo)

Yes i do have an AV receiver and i'm using the HDMI as my audio/video connection. If I set the M32B to stereo the av receiver's DTS or DD would light up depending on the audio source, but when I set it to 5.1 the dts or dd would not light up instead I would see a "Multi-channel" displayed on my av receiver.

RE: mkv with flac = no audio
checkout the wiki

What receiver? If your receiver behaves in the same way as mine then it sound like you have it set to output multichannel when it receives surround, you may want to try changing the output when it is receiving DTS to see if that helps.

Storage Options
C-200, A-110, DAS400, Denon 1909 via HDMI, TXP42X10, KEF Q3 and Q9C surround

RE: mkv with flac = no audio
Well technically if you use the settings provided in the wiki, have your HDMI going straight from your egreat to the onkyo with it set to 5.1 you should get DTS and DD just fine.

My receiver, when receiving DD for example, I can scroll through outputs so on the screen it reads dolby digital or multi channel in or stereo etc etc (I still get the light above this registering a DD input) i'm not overly sure about the onkyo's never played with one. Have you tried scrolling through the outputs whilst it is receiving a DD or DTS 5.1 signal?

well if i set it to stereo on my nmt then when playing the file i could see my receiver's display the DTS or DD light, but when i set my nmt to 5.1 the dts or dd light does not lit up on the receiver but instead the multichannel light lits up on the receiver and theres audio coming out of the speakers... i was only wondering of its still DTS or DD regardless if the multichannel indicator lights up.

RE: mkv with flac = no audio
What i'm asking is with the onkyo is the multichannel light referring to the input or output?

RE: mkv with flac = no audio
Then my original question stands, have you tried scrolling through the outputs when you are passing through 5.1 DD or DTS? Big Grin

yes i did, i would have the options of setting the receiver's audio output to either neo6 movie, neo music, full mono, stereo, multichannel but would not set to dts or dd.Huh
