Well I only increase the transparency by about 10% so still very easy to read the text and you can see the fanart much better. Not ideal I know but it'll be hard to change skins once I'm used to the incredible support from EJP (and others) with this one =]

That mod is probably as big as XBMC Aeon itself. It's a completely new task. I wish much luck to the person/team who wants to take it on!

Well, the only thing is that increasing the transparency will, indeed, allow it to be more visible, however, it won't change the fact that it's cropped. coikenMod will allow for full uncropped fanart, though. The user might still have to change the transparency of the textures. However, the poster will still be fairly large - covering a good amount of the fanart. The user can make the poster as small as they like in coikenMod, but it might not look so pretty when the poster is too small.

I'm also glad you like the level of support I'm offering. People may or may not like how the skin looks, but it's hard to dispute the amount of support I've put in.

I finally got my A-110 today and I am moving all my videos to my hard drive(in the unit). The internal HD will be the only thing I am playing files from. When I plug in a usb cable from my PCH to my laptop it doesn't show up as a drive(Using Windows 7 Pro - 64bit). Is there a way to get that to show up? Will the only way to update it be through this USB? Is that the easiest way to update the files? Thanks. I know this is more of a general question but hopefully you can help.

I think I got it it to show up now. Is that the only way to update AEON?

You should be able to do it via network too, but that's really more of a general question.

You should really have started a new thread, as this isn't skin specific.

Anyway your internal HDD isn't showing up thru usb because its ext3 format, you need to install a driver to see it:

As ejp says you could also do it over your network (if you have one), this would negate the need for said driver but would not be as quick for transfer of large files.

I may get flamed for this but I think people are being very cheeky and possibly taking advantage of ejp's excellent support, when they come on here saying can you change the skin so it works\looks a specific way for them!

If you want a skin where you can see the fanart better, then this isn't the skin for you. its been designed to use the fanart in a subtle way.

Personally I love the whole design of it, and ejp's speed and quality of response is awesome. Don't get me wrong - suggestions on how the skin looks\works are ok, but not a complete redesign of the skin because you want more fanart or you want the Movie page comletely changed, thats effectively a different skin. What about the people who love the skin as is, and were attracted to it as is?

I thinks its probably the most popular skin at the moment, so obviously ejp is doing somethig right.

I have everything working now. Anyways I have a question about the skin. I have the imdb movie description on long and some are too long to show up. Is there any way to scroll through the longer descriptions or is whats on there all that you can see.

Someone asked about scrollable plots on the last page. It's currently not possible.

This is why I suggest using short plots -- it's better to have a short plot and be able to read the whole thing, than to have a long plot and have it get cut off.

Reflecting back on the past 3 months, I honestly did not think this skin was going to get this big. Not being in love with any of the skins back then (though they're all works of geniuses), I was able to use my knowledge from my previous skin to design a look I wanted. I was literally bored and didn't have anything better to do.

I first had to figure out which jukebox I was going to skin for. I decided YAMJ gave me the ease and flexibility - to think, this skin could've been created under another jukebox. Putting in all the hard working, I decided I'd make it available for whoever wanted it. Little did I know, it was a look many others were looking for.

And little did I know, I released an "incomplete" skin - for my personal needs, I only utilized a fraction of the YAMJ features. Based on requests, I started building in all the features people were asking for; they were all basically extra YAMJ features. Eventually, I maxed out all the YAMJ features and it just became a question of customization.

I kept putting in all these features week-after-week. And week-after-week, the fanbase started getting larger. I started seeing regulars - mhut, j0k3r, wvn, etc. More requests and more features were being put in. I started a running list of "firsts" that no other skin has offered. For once, someone thought about me and suggested putting up a donation box. I never once asked for donations and never will, but let me tell you, I've received a lot of coffee, and will always be happy to receive coffee.

The thread started growing faster and faster, so I started keeping track of thread milestones. 100 pages. 1000 posts. 2000 posts. Largest YAMJ thread. Largest NMT thread. Soon, 200 pages, 3000 posts, and hopefully "Best Movie Jukebox". I don't know what the future of this skin will be -- maybe something better will come out, and this skin will fade into the ether. I don't know what the future of my position will be on this forum either.

I'll just say that the last 3 months have been great and hopefully I can give another 3 months. We'll see what I have in store for my 6-month reflection. Sorry for getting choked up -- now let's get back to business.
