Well after looking at Philos' pictures and a few others that are on the net, it seems the A-200 and C-200 are both using the same Vitesse VSC8601 PHY chip for networking.

So, the big question of the day is;

Does the A-200 exhibit the same 1Gb networking problems as the C-200? Does the A-200 also offer the same 10/100 setting?

C-200, A-110 both playing from a DIY Linux Raid 5 server.

Remuxes, Captures and Transcodes done on a desktop running;
Win7, Intel i7 hexacore processor with 24 GB ram, WD VR OS drive and a WD Black 2 TB data drive.

Ok, I figured it out. I can tell you for me it works best on a ext3 formatted usb disk... On fat it wouldn't run. It's rebooting now.

Hi,

It was working fine for films and music from my local network shares. All internet services didn't do anything, so that's why I opted for the firmware update. I will check them out and see if they work now. I'll first watch Dark Knight, it is looking great!

Hi,

I am having problems with the internet connection for the A-200 as well. Tried just about everything. copied IP settings from other computers in the network which have no problems connecting to the internet. But nothing I try seems to work on the popcorn. Using webservices will try for a couple of minutes to connect, but eventually it will time-out and return a cannot connect message. The local network works fine, computer and laptop all "see" the popcorn, and are all connected to the internet, only the popcorn wont "go outside to play".
(already installed latest firmware through usb)

Are more people experiencing this problem for the A-200?

@tuurie, did you try a complete shut down first? after the firmware update it didnt work for me, but after a reboot it works fine. listening to shoutcast, playing youtube lite video etc. I did have to set up the wireless again after the update, but since ssid broadcasting is not required anymore it was much easier.

How can PCH A-200 talk to Modem? It is not a PC. You will need a router in between. may be wireless may be not.. but router would be must.. Isn't it?
