I don't see a power switch anywhere, however I read that the remote can do a "full power off" how would you turn the unit back on unless it's on some kind of standby? Does this mean the unit is always using electricity? off subject here's a picture of the internals I found.

Quote:I don't see a power switch anywhere, however I read that the remote can do a "full power off" how would you turn the unit back on unless it's on some kind of standby? I guess the IR receiver and LED must still be powered on for the unit to respond to a power up command from the remote like it does. I suspect it draws very little power but I dont know exactly. If you need it to not consume any power at all you'll need to unplug it from the wall socket. Media tank:A-100 & C-200 TV:Panasonic TH-50PY800MT (HDMI) Audio:Logitech Z-5500 (Coaxial) |

My fan is so quiet, that I do not hear it, just working harddrive inside. The Off/On powering with remote is very cool thing.

RE: [12.Jan.2010] NMT Popcornhour A-200 Announcement (Photos, Specs and Orderdate)
Hello everyone,
I was wondering whether it's possible to use a RF remote control with the A-200, or at least extend the IR receiver so it could be hidden somewhere. I intend to install the device in the kitchen and would like to hide it beneath the kitchen bench. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance, sNiXx |

RE: [12.Jan.2010] NMT Popcornhour A-200 Announcement (Photos, Specs and Orderdate)
I have been researching these types of boxes for awhile but don't know all the geekspeak. I have a ReadyNAS Pro for my content and have been considering the C-200, Boxee, and WD Live. I haven't seen an evaluation that compares the three contenders, and before I made that decision, the PopBox and A-200 have come along to further cloud the issue.
Could you tell me more about the three features missing on the A-200 that the C-200 has, i.e. BD and commercial DVD support. I have a combination of "raw" BD copies as well as BD's coverted to MKV. I use my PS3 to view BD's I haven't backed up yet. I have tried Boxee on my PC but it doesn't play the MKV files. I am trying to get a box that handles the most formats, but at least can provide BD support for the files I have. I would hate to have to backup my files again or change formats if one of the players will work with all of them. The fan was by the last two power-ons extremely loud, just for 2 or 3 seconds, than was all OK. Anybody the same?

Today, I measured the electricity consumption,
and was very pleased with the fact that it is very economical. with SSD (OCZ), it consumes no more than 10-12W ![]() in standby 8-9W ![]() ![]() tertm141, yes, you must switch sub ON from setup menu or use key on remote control.

I try to rename it to *.srt, no subtiles. First point, the subtitles must be named -exactly- like the video file except for the extension. It is case sensitive. "Movie.avi" will only work with "Movie.srt". It will not work with "movie.srt", "mOvie.srt", and not with 'Movie.eng.srt' either. Second, you need to do either of these: 1. Press SETUP on your remote and pick a subtitle language. This means if there are compatible subtitles, they will show automatically. 2. When you start playing, press the Subtitle button on the remote control, use the navigation pad UP and DOWN buttons to browse subtitle options like Offset, Position and Subtitle track, and use the navigation pad LEFT and RIGHT buttons to modify the currently selected subtitle option.
