I'm also considering the Asrock ION. Would use it with XBMC. I'm only worried that it won't play everything (I have a lot of HD wmv files) |

RE: DTS audio drop outs
After trying to watch another film on my a-200 and turning it off due to audio drops outs, I am giving up that this problem will ever be fixed! I`ve spent good money on an item that is crap and if the audio drop outs don't do your head in then the noisy fan will.
I'm now going to dust off my old xbox and use my xbmc which has never let me down in all the years that i've had it. I'm sticking two fingers up at PH until there's a fix for this audio drop out. |

RE: DTS audio drop outs
I got my a-110 for a year now but i just encountered my first audio glitches / dropouts on two movies.
First one was with the movie Carriers.2009.LiMiTED.720p.BluRay.x264-CiNEFiLE.mkv Booth the AC3 and DTS track had some glitchy audio, not that bad but you could hear it. The second movie was with Chloe.2009.BluRay.720p.DTS.x264-CHD.mkv It had total DTS audio dropouts every view second. also the movie itself got out of sync till it the drop occurs, then it good for a view secs till it repeats. This is never happed but now two times in a row does the remuxing trick still works with the latest firmware upgrade?

RE: DTS audio drop outs
I have to say this problem just started happening to me in the last 2 months or so, perhaps starting when I installed the latest FW. It used to be in a very few movies but now it happens a lot.
It may also be more noticeable from when I started using audio through HDMI and not through the optic connection and set DTS-HD output. This is very annoying! The dropouts happen to me in more and more mkv files but still not in all of them. What is the best way to handle it? Convert to m2ts? This is not much fun, to convert each MKV I plan to watch. I will also try to set output to DTS and not DTS-HD, who knows it may help. Addition: Read a few pages back that it happens with optical connection as well, so not sure why I noticed this problem only about 2 months ago. I always played DTS MKV so not sure. Maybe the problem is in the latest FW? Or maybe it has to do (as said before) with 1536 kbps DTS. Maybe most files I had in the past were 1509 kbps DTS. I really hace no idea why now it happens to me and in the past it didn't. PCH A110 / External 250 GB WD passport / Mitsubishi HC 5500 projector |

RE: DTS audio drop outs
Can anyone tell me which program to use to convert to m2ts as I'm using tsMuxer and still getting audio problems.

RE: DTS audio drop outs
Well when I'm trying to watch HD films the sound drops out, only for a split second but quite regular. It happens at the exact point in the film each time i play it back and will continue throughout, but when I play the film back on my PC then the audio is fine. It doesn't do it on every film but I had a bit of disaster on saturday night when I tried to watch four films and all had the audio drop out problem, the fifth film was fine but by then the wife had started moaning about why is this box that you've bought so rubbish and so I think you can guess how the night ended.

Strange - I have converted countless 1080p MKV with DTS sound to either .ts or .m2ts using TSMuxer and NONE have had subsequent audio drop outs. |

RE: DTS audio drop outs
I've just realised that all the files I'm having problems with are mp4 files with AAC and not mkv. Is there a way of fixing these so that they are watchable without drop outs?
I have other films which are also mp4/aac and they play fine. All of the films play fine on the PC so the problem is obviously with the A200. |

Just because it works on one setup and not on another, you cannot conclude from this that the "another" setup is at fault. For more information, please read Martian Headsets. Keld R. RE: DTS audio drop outs
Well it is "obvious" that the A200 doesn't perform as it was advertised. It was supposed to play almost anything you can throw at it so I naively purchased one and now find myself spending all my time converting films from one format to another and crossing my fingers hoping it will play without any trouble. I used to use an old xbox running xbmc, which was brilliant, but I wanted to upgrade to be able to watch HD content so that is why I purchased an A200. I'm now stuck with this device so really need to sort out this MP4 issue. I read the 'Martian Headset' article but all I can conclude from that is that the A200 isn't compatible with different formats as there are 'too many on the market'
Any answers to my problem would be much appreciated. |

RE: DTS audio drop outs
I'm pretty lost now. My popcorn hour also suffers from the dts drop outs. What's the best work-around to solve this?
1) MKVextract and then merge? 2) Remux to .ts or .m2ts? |
