Hmmm. I went to my Maintenance page and, out of habit, did a Check For Update. Whaddayaknow! There was an update waiting. Version 02-03-100821-POP-408-000. Said it was for QA testing. So, perhaps the official release will be here this Friday after all.

I'm sure it was just an honest mistake that caused it to be "posted" for anyone to download... along with the new NMT Apps...

Even on the previous May 7 release, the online update was available first before being announced here.

There's still a greater percentage of owners of PCH products who don't log in here at all so take it as an official release.

OK.

There's still a few bugs, of course. For one, the HD Audio (when playing from a .ts file, at least) drops down to the core audio if you step forward a few times - or maybe do anything that interrupts the stream a few times in a row -- that part's just me guessing. Doesn't seem to be any way to coax it back to HD once its lost unless you go back to the beginning, stop the playback and re-start. Well, perhaps there's a simpler way -- I've only played with it for about half-an-hour. Certainly not as long as the beta-testers have had. Perhaps they (you?) know the secret handshake to turn it back on once it's gone.

Still, despite this minor complaint, I have to say it's very nice to have HD Audio playback from a standalone .ts file - especially since many of my BD discs have been ripped to .ts files.
