Should I have bought a second C-200 instead? I thought these had the same chipset?

everything is the exact same. as a test try playing local content. and try a different cable.

I will try that but keep in mind I already own a C-200 and it was using the existing cable and network config, accessing the exact same content before. The C-200 is now used in the bedroom connected via powerline. In it's current location or previous one the C-200 plays perfectly.

I will post the results of my local testing and different HDMI cable tomorrow. If these are the exact same why are there separate firmware releases?

I have seen one cable work with one device but not with another it doesn't always mean its good.

Will try then for sure. We are talking about the HDMI cable right?

If you added a new device and are running the network via powerline adapters... unplug all the adapters, restart the router, plug in the adapters, and, turn on the devices.

Are you really trying to update a A200/A210 with C200 firmware or are you just posting in the wrong thread in the wrong forum section?

Finally had some time to test this out and after changing both the HDMI and network cable I was able to watch two movies without a single issue. I want to say it has more to do with the network cable than the HDMI cable. The network drop in the basement was previously going through another router so I just by-passed the router and went directly to the A-210. The router in the middle never caused an issue with the C-200 but this way will work as well.

Thanks everyone.

This would drive me nuts. So you still don't know if all of this or none of this was the problem. I would have to start backing up until I knew exactly what the problem was... but I'm just ocd that way...

I agree but I don't have the free time I used to. The wiring, cables, network etc. etc. worked fine for the C-200 but the A-210 not so much. Now it is working and I don't feel like fooling around with it anymore. I am leaning towards the router though.

Good afternoon,

First of all I'd like to thank you all for this useful forum.
Though, I'm having some trouble with my A-200, and I haven't been able to find a solution so far...

I'm tranferring files to the Pocorn from an external hardrive (Western Digital MyPassport), which was formated on a Mac (and therefore not NTFS).
But while it's working perfectly fine for films (avi. , mkv...), I get an error message whenever trying to tranfer subtitles files (srt.). At the end of the tranfer, the subtitles file actually shows on the popcorn, but its size is 0KB and it won't read...

Has anyone had this problem so far ?
Is there anything I can do ?

Thanks a lot,

Jules

I'm guessing you have sorted it now, but just in case anyone gets the same problem, it was my router. The wifi worked with the default firmware, but after upgrade all networking stopped (appeared to be a bootp problem). Tried all of the usual (reset to factory defaults etc).

Replaced my Belkin N1 with a Netgear DGN1000, all was fine.

I have not fixed the problem yet. I downgraded my firmware and that resolved it. I just re-upgraded to this firmware and the problem remains.

I just tried this. This did not fix it for me. What should I do no?

I went to Settings > Network > wireless config > change security to None
Erased key
saved, WiFi connected and I had signal
changed my security to WPA2 TKIP/AES, entered key, did not work, not available
i repeated these steps trying WPA2 TKIP (security to none, erase key, save, change security to WPA2 TKIP) and it still did not work.

Hi. I have got my new POPCORN Hour A200 today and it comes with Firmware version: 02-02-100209-19-POP-411-093

I want to update to the latest Firmware (02-04-101104-21-POP-411) using a USB MemoryStick.
My question is: Can I update directly to the latest Firmware, or do I have to update progressively?

First update to: 02-02-100208-19-POP-411-000
Second update to: 02-02-100428-19-POP-411-000
Third update to: 02-03-100918-21-POP-411-000
.... and so on

Or update directly form 02-02-100209-19-POP-411-093 to 02-04-101208-21-POP-411.

Thanks for you reply.
