RE: How-To: Transfer files via USB slave from PC to NMT
![]() Hi everyone, My file transfers are hanging when trying to move more than 4gb! I've installed a 2 tb samsung in my A110 the previous 750gb disk has been put into my computer and I'm trying to transfer the files from it. When I try to cancel it stills hangs though task manager shows no problem. I'm using W7 EXT2 Volume manager from sourceforge.net both drives are formatted to EXT3 |

I have just bought a C-200. Is that the only way ??? It is a little difficult to remove the hdd everytime you need to copy an movie to the C-200. Stein |

You don't have to move the content at all and stream or share the files via a network. You can use USB and load the files onto a USB flash stick or USB HDD on your PC. Then connect to the C200 via USB and either play from USB or use the filemode remote key to copy or move the files from the USB source to the internal HDD. Finally as explained above with a little varient to avoid using Ext drivers. You can use the front loading slot for a 3.5" HDD and a USB stick for the NMT Apps. Then keep the HDD NTFS formatted and simply connect the HDD to your PC after ejecting from the C200. Remember that the C200 does not have USB Slave so you can't connect via USB cable. RE: How-To: Transfer files via USB slave from PC to NMT
I've been using this method to transfer files to a new hdd but I was just wondering why I get different speeds for files that are the same size ? .Some go at 30mbs and another file the same size only transfers at 10 mbs.
PS: Great guide Chris.Very simple and easy to follow |

BUT: i can't copy files bigger than 2gb. when i copy files, the speed rate goes up to 50mb per second and after few seconds it freezes. |

BUT:Use something like Filezilla to transfer your files. As far as I can remember you can cap the transfer speed,(just limit it to 20mb to start) so that would help you out.It could also be that your tranfers would seem like they are freezing at the end of a transfer, but that is just a read delay. The HDD takes time to catch up with the high speed transfer. |

RE: How-To: Transfer files via USB slave from PC to NMT
after few test, my conclusion is that it's not a a speed problem. there is no problem with files smaller than 4gb. i found something else. i can copy big files (more than 4gb) from my wd my passport to the PCH while they both connected to the pc. for now, it's the best solution i have.

RE: How-To: Transfer files via USB slave from PC to NMT
It appears that mkv files I transfer via USB will not play. Transferring the same file over the network onto the internal drive plays fine.
I am using Ext2Fsd 0.50, which could be the issue as the wiki states 0.48. I will do more testing tomorrow but any info is appreciated. |

No its not an issue with the version number. You could try reformatting just the largest Ext partition to NTFS if you are a Windows User. Use gparted to do it. Search WIKI for Gparted guide on How to Format to Ext. Simply change the filesystem to NTFS as that point in the guide. That way you wont need any Ext drivers if connecting to your NMT via USB Slave. Observations using Ext2fsd 0.48: File transfers at 30MB/sec mkv files play no problem. Observations using Ext2fsd 0.50: File transfers at 65MB/sec mkv files either load and hang straight away or don't load at all. I also formatted the ext3 partition to NTFS which worked fine, file transfers were at 30MB/sec also. |

Just for information, the aMule will prevent internal HDD from connecting. You can comments the program in start_app.sh in the share folder
