RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
The point here is that PR on these "achievements" loose their value if the user community is focused on other more pressing matter like a HUGE backlog of faults, bugs, feature requests and inconsistencies in their NMT's....
What the user community needs is a clear development focus on these issues instead of GUI, 3D and all those other items that look nice on electronic shows and magazine reviews but don't mean shit to a user who is looking at stutter playback, failed HDMI, unstable network performance and about 125 registered other unique faults that are waiting on a fix from development... Who cares about the fancy new feature when you still need to fix the basics? MKV3D yeah great

I completely agree with this, especially on the issues that may not be fixable without someone like sigma. It can look like the bug is being ignored from this side of the fence. |

This exactly sums it up. Address the core features, playability issues first for a more solid overall experience for ALL of the community before trying add features like this that only a small % of the users are looking for and you'll find much greater success in your product. RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
Sorry for my ignorance, but what will this feature add for 3d compatible tv's? Current gen 3d tv's are capable of "generating" a 3d image from a SBS source, so what's the advantage of letting the popcorn do that?
thx |

RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
Not wanting to get this thread OT, I agree there is a balance between new features and getting bugs fixed. At the moment I am stuck on the May 2010 firmware for the A200 since every firmware release since then (when the new SDK was used) has broken the ability to skip forward or resume files captured from our DVB-T transmissions which have AAC-HE audio in LATM.
There is an ongoing discussion in the bugs forum on the A200 but no input from Syabas. |

RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
lchiu7,
Our QA is checking this out. Flash3d, The advantage of letting our device handle this is that it will automatically signal the 3DTV, via HDMI1.4 protocols, to switch to side-by-side or top-and-bottom mode, according to the source material (by naming it *.3DSBS.* and *.3DTAB.* accordingly). With MKV3D sources, the Stereoscopic parameters is encoded into the file itself, so you don't have to name it as above (Note: you need latest mkvtoolnix that supports the Stereoscope filed proper). Doing so, you don't have to reach for the remote to switch the 3D modes. We are also working on a separate Brightness, Contrast, Saturation settings when in 3D mode, as you may want to compensate for the reduced brightness due to 3D glasses. Furthermore, there are emerging content called "BD25" which are basically BD rips, but with the BD3D reencoded to half-resolution SBS or TAB 3D. We intend to stay ahead in delivering the latest innovation and technology. Meanwhile, as you can see in our release notes, we are fixing bugs and issues regularly. Unfortunately some issues may not get bumped up the priorities as compared to others. Your feedback is much appreciated. Sales: sales@syabas.com Tech support: support@syabas.com |

With current firmware, NMT is displaying the subtitles only on the left side of the SBS movie, so, when 3d mode is on, subtitles are too light, unreadable. Please, display the subtitles on the right side too and we are done! |

Sorry, but since you failed to deliver what was considered the latest technology in Sept 2009, you failed miserably in staying ahead. Please consider omitting these marketing posts and try to catch up first. I realize you depend on factors beyond your control and I therefore normally don't complain, but this type of posts really angers me sufficiently to provoke a response. When you really manage to fix the basics I would post a very enthausiastic response to a bragging post about finally having produced a solid mainstream device! RE: Syabas is first to support MKV3D
Can anybody explain to me why 3D files are marked with special file names (*.3DSBS.* and *.3DTAB.*) instead of using Stereoscopy parameter in MKV container format?
