It lost the connection with the server, the ftp is very unstable, I will chek my internal network, maybe a problem with my swicth eth.....

The audio playback problem is not gone entirely. It happens less but i found some folders of wav, flac and mp3 files that stop playing after a few songs, returning to the filelist. After this i have to reboot the system to be able to play anything.
I will collect some samples and make them available for Syabas to have a look.

Until yesterday I had the same problem.

I did a factory reset - no change.
I changed the HDMI audio output to enabled (even though I use optical output) and surround mode to stereo and ... - success!!!
MP3 playback works as it should.

Still fails to play over samba properly. It stutters few times per 1080p movie, 720p seems to work better. But I don't care anymore much, I have xtreamer ultra preordered.

You're right. It's too late for a bug fix that still has bugs, as usual. I've a Zotac Zbox, and only use the Popcorn for Transmission and Shoutcast radio. Like you, I don't care anymore. Transmission works great (not for Syabas credit), but Shoutcast hangs the NMT from time to time, as it use to be on my precedent firmware (March 2010). I've to reset the box too often for been able to listen to the radio.

Hello I did the update and find that myhome just goes into starting mode tried to re install older version with same issue,also reformated the drive and still can not get myhome out of starting mode any ideas or help with this thanks

With this firmware, my popcorn plays 1080p movies flawlessly throught PLS 200mbps, the problem is the quality of your network, not the popcorn.
There is no difference between your popcorn and mine except the network and it's working for me. I wish you that an xtreamer will solve the problem but don't be surprised if it doesn't ...

Hmmm played a music folder from my PC (thus SMB networked Wired).
The music was MP3.

Screensaver was set on 5 mins.
It falls back again to the blue explorer, or hangs very hard.
Need to switch it even off.

If I do a factory reset, what will be lost ?
Content on HD ?? I presume not.
SMB shares ??
Installed applications ??

I thought that too at first. Poor cabling has burned me already once when I used extension bit to join two network cables together. But this started to happen after upgrading to 3rd latest firmware (or so) after which I verified connection to popcorn hour by copying files to it's hdd via samba and it worked fine (~5MB/s).

I don't believe my ubuntu server has problems sending constant stream because I can watch movies from my PC just fine, I also have gigabit network and it seems to be good up to 50-70MB/s.

This takes me back to point which I mentioned earlier, there should be network warning / buffering icon in case the network is the issue ....

Edit: Enabled samba "use sendfile = yes" and it gives better performance, maybe it even works better with popcorn

You should try to install MyIHome on your ubuntu server. Once it will we done, popcorn will see it automatically in network sources.
I used it when I had sluttering problem with the previous firmwares

Here is my configuration :
Apple mac mini 1.83 C2D as server -> Samba share or MyIhome -> DLink 1Gbps switch -> Bewan 200Mbps PLC -> Popcorn A110 (all wired with Cat5 noname cables)

I don't know if it dependes from firmware update but I have problems with video_ts folders and some mkv files.
In the internal HD I use to keep many video_ts folders and now when I play them from the a-110 they don't play at all, while they still work if I play them from my PC connected with Lan to PCH. I have the same problem with some mkv files which play without audio.
I am sure that it did all work properly before

I just recently updated to this latest firmware and im experiencing problems with loss of audio and choppy playback on 720p .mkv files streamed from my freenas box (smb). The same files play fine via usb and xvid avi divx play fine streamed from the freenas box. I cannot be certain it is the firmware update however as i have recently had to revert to a router which doesn't support gigabit but i have swapped out the popcorn for my play on hd and everything works fine from that. My question tho is it safe to revert back the firmware from the 23 December 2010 01-17-101217-15-POP-403? So i can do some more testing

Hello

I just recently updated to this latest firmware and I'm experiencing problems with HDMI audio. There's no sound at all. I did reset to factory settings after upgrade, but no result. Over optic link everything plays fine. Normally I'm routing only DTS and DD files to my amplifier and common stereo should be played by TV over HDMI. Of course "HDMI sound" option is set to "ON".
Previous firmware (from 2009 ??) played fine. Of course I did two upgrades - first to December firmware (with apps) and then second to April firmware.

Can someone help ? Thanks in advance
