Stupid question time: with the new colorspace settings, what colorspace should I be using exactly? Mostly I watch HD, but I do have quite a bit of SD.

Currently it's set to 16-235, but should I set the colorspace to REC709?

REC709 is for hd material if you wait a week there should be an auto setting for the c200 to pick 709 for hd and 601 for sd

Picking 709 or 601 is causing bad HDMI handshake and there is no sound or just 2 channels passed. Then after HDMI handshake forced (switching imputs at AVR during the playback - not stoped nor paused) the sound is restored to normal as should be.

But the problem returns when playing another movie... so once again forceing handshake... and back to normal.

No such problems with 16-235.

Then pull up a chair and be patient. Perhaps the changes are not in because it breaks more people than it fixes. You only see your problems, not all the customers issues.

CSI apps i have to say yes and no to that.
It does indeed fix the ftp crashing if i use lundftp update pureftp dosen´t work at all for me.
But i get no change in speed to ftp,smb,nfs,nfs tcp,http at all meaning it takes 4-5 times as long as copy to usb drive unplug wait 1 hour then plug in to c-200,make a seven course meal,copy to internal hd (ok maybe skip the dinner if it isn´t to much your moving).

I mean it went from working really well on a few routers,and fairly on most.
To almost none working at all for the well working ones and the fairly ones got a little bit better but how much better is that really?
Seems to me that many is still complaining about them here anyway.

Something must be broken since i can set the pch to 100 or 1000 (in the router settings i can see that it does indeed connect at 100 or 1000) but there is no change at all in speed,stability.

And as i said the may FW from last year works rock stable.

Thanks for the bugfixes.

I understand this was just an interim update directed to only a very few issues, and that a major update is forthcoming. However it appears that this interim bugfix has introduced some networking issues which seem unrelated to the bugs addressed by this bugfix, for example, Samba share workgroup is not recognized (was working fine (most of the time) before updating).

This is a rather expensive piece of kit, yet still seems to have serious issues with basic functionality. I mean, a networked media player should do networking reliably, without requiring restarting or re-saving network settings.

Regarding the upcoming major release, I do hope better de-interlacing is offered (again, basic functionality for a media player). The current de-interlacing is dreadful when watching 1080i content.

With the latest fw 9 May 2011 for the C200, old bugs have returned. After a CD or an mp3 playback DTS from mkv movie just disappears(no sound). I have to reboot to recover.

Instead of rebooting the PCH, have you tried changing the input on your tv to another one and then back to HDMI. I've only experienced sound loss a couple of times on the A200 and this seemed to work. My C200 hasn't had this problem.

Just and idea.

My A200 is connected directly via hdmi to a philips tv and since a couple of firmwares allmost all media has problems with sound not playing (found thread saying turn off framrate sync and that did the trick)
My C200 have none of thease issues and are connected through a Denon4310 reciever...

Try the framerate sync setting on your unit...

Hey Guys,

Since installing the new firmware I have been having an issue. If I leave the C-200 on standby over night, the next time I wake it up, I get the spinning wait icon in the top left and I have to perform a soft reboot before being able to use it.

Any ideas?

I think I've found another old bug that has returned with this firmware update. I just watched a BD ISO of Gran Torino, and the default English subtitles that appear in a select few Asian language scenes aren't being displayed automatically like they should be. Problems with default subs were an issue in the past and had been addressed in the previous firmware.

I had the same issue while watching M (UK Masters of Cinema release) a couple weeks back and thought it was the rip. Looks like it's actually a playback problem with default subtitles.

Forced subtitles work. I watched Tora! Tora! Tora! last night without issue.

Eh, this may have been wishful thinking on my part. I just rolled back to the previous firmware, and default subtitles don't work for me on that either. Based on the release notes, it looks like "forced" subtitles are all that were fixed. I guess "default" never worked.

It would be nice if we could get this addressed at some point. I hate having to research new discs I buy to find out if they have a default subtitle track I need to enable manually when starting the movie. I rip the entire ISO because I just want to press play and watch without worrying about remuxing, reencoding, etc.

Forced subs only work on BDMV & MKV.

If you say you rip entire ISO then this is a different issue because there are different methods for authoring.

Some retail BD don't ask for a language preference at the start of playback and some do. Those that DON'T ask for a language preference IMHO are better authored because they did take the time to adhere to BD Consortium standards to get the language preferred from the playback device.

The lazy ones don't bother and just put a language preference on the menu itself that's why the C200's language setting is completely ignored.

I updated the firmware yesterday, and after reboot i watched a downloaded VOB of a tv-series, there was no sound, but because it was an old episode I didnt think anything of it.
Today i wanted to watch another movie (AVI this time) and the wait-icon appears, after 3 seconds there is a short message on the screen and it stops, same with MPG and MKV, if i select an ISO, IMG or DVD-folder the wait icon disapears after 3 seconds and the screen goes black, no video no audio.
I tested it with an older video I'd seen already, same error.

What to do??
