hi,

waar kan ik de tool srt23sass downloaden? als ik die via de link op het forum download. dan krijg in een exe bestand als ik hem uitgepakt hebt. Krijg hem dus niet opgestart. Wat moet ik doen, is er een andere versie?

gr,
do

ps: en dan gewoon het mkv bestand samenvoegen met de geconverteerde ass file in mkvmerge?

It would be better if you wrote in english since the chance for replies increases dramaticly.
Although, if I don't misunderstand, you're asking about how to use the program? Just place the .srt-file in the same folder as the .exe-file and drag-and-drop the .srt on to the .exe-file using Windows Explorer!
Then it's just a matter of following the dialog!
Afterwards you should have an .ass-file that you should input alongside the mkv in to mkvmerge and create a new MKV.
Hope this helps!

How does it work? I must put the sup file in the exe file. You don't have a link from it? X do

I don't think you can use sup files, just get a srt file and then drag the file in Windows Explorer using the left mousebutton onto the srt23dass.exe and release. Everything should kickstart from there! I am using the file that is available in this thread, and it works wonders for me! I have encountered some problems in using the supplied font (no picture on film), but when using Arial (yes, I know that it gets BIG, but it works!) everything is working!

the half sbs subs doesnt work after i change it with 23dass and merge it in the mkv file with mkvmerge. i have a hdx1000 mediaplayer. is that the problem i think? wich mediaplayer do you have? and wich other mediaplayers does support it. if you merge the ass file in the mkv file with mkvmerge?

I've got a Popcorn Hour C-200 which works fine with 3D, so does the A-200 and A-210 I think. Other than that, I haven't got a clue as to which ones works with 3D.

RE: [TOOL] Convert .srt to 3D Half-SBS compatible .ass
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to mux avatar subs in the side by side 1080p video
I used srt23sass tool to get the .ass from the .srt file.
then I used mkvmerge gui 4.9.1 whith video and .ass and attached your ttf file.

when I watch with vlc, both video have the subtitle inside, but when I try on my samsung TV (U40C7700) in 3D mode, I have 2 separate subs at the bottom of the screen, one is up and the other below???
they are not matched...
I dont know why.

thanks for helping me, and sorry for my english.

RE: [TOOL] Convert .srt to 3D Half-SBS compatible .ass
I've updated the first post with a new version that should handle any encoding in the original .srt file. The resulting .ass file will be in the same encoding. This should solve some problems with Unicode/UTF-8/UTF-16 files.

Please post here if you find any problems.

For Mac users:
This tool was written in a couple of hours (one and a half spend with encoding problems...) in a fast and dirt method using AutoHotkey. That's why there's no GUI and never will be. As I said: fast and dirty. So... regarding Mac porting: since there are no AutoHotkey for Mac, it can't be directly ported. But I'm almost sure it will work with Wine or similar. Check HERE.

Ok thanks but in fact i was looking for the syntax of the ssa file you used to do it.
Since i don't know very much about sea subtitles syntax, i guess then i'm gonna look into it.

You can open the .ass and the .srt in any text editor and look at the differences. It's rather simple really.

RE: [TOOL] Convert .srt to 3D Half-SBS compatible .ass
Yeah i've been just looked into it.
Correct me if i'm wrong, what you've done is to display two time the same subtitles.
but with a margin at left for the first one, (for a FullHD Half-SBS : 960, and 640 for an 720p), and a margin at the right for the second one.
What have you done if the subtitle is too large to be displayed on one line ?
In the ssa/ass spécification the "collision" spec will change the disposition automatically, its a little problem, but i wonder what have you done to resolve the problem.

Oh and i've begin to do something in Java.
At least no problems with MAC or Windows Big Grin
