Bought the Magic Eye SLX (Sky) extender for £3.24 from Amazon and with a £1.79 3.5mm plug added it works perfectly with the Harmony One Remote (using Popcorn IRK-200 for the device setup). Finally down to a single remote for all equipment and activities! Have to say the Harmony One is a superb bit of kit and the online setup and subsequent tweaking were a doddle.

I got the same... can you give me details on how you wired it?

Cut the cable at the opposite end to the IR receiver. Then solder the individual cables to the 3.5mm plug in this order:

White = tip (Data)
Red = middle (VCC)
Green = base (Ground)

Make sure you seat the plug in the C200 socket well (may need to jiggle it about a bit!). You will know it is working because the SLX receiver glows read when it gets a signal. If in doubt about the colours unscrew the IR receiver and compare with above.

Add Harmony device as follows:

Device Type = Computer > Media Centre PC
Manufacturer = Popcorn Hour
Model Number = IRK-200

Did you try here?

I just got mine while I was in Germany and I thought on the website that I saw they ship to most EU countries.

Just found this one...still not sure if it will work but might be worth trying at this price:

For that price I'm going to try one. I built one of the Radio Shack IR Receiver/Dollar Store Headphone wire DIY things but the wires are so flimsy I'm afraid it's going to break if anything touches it.

Funny thing is, Monoprice seems to be about 15 miles from me. I chose shipping anyway Tongue

I edited this post earlier as I wasn't able to get the monoprice IR receiver to work. Let me know if you are able to get it to work though.

Thanks! Implemented and works perfect without buying IRK-200!
Now I use Harmony One remote for all and it's well intergated with my own c200 'IR eye' for 1$ with TSOP3128.

RE: DIY: build your own c200 'IR eye' for cheap
Hey guys. Old thread. But I've just bought a Harmony 700 remote so need to start using IR and would rather just build my own receiver which seems a lot cheaper.

Because I'm not too great at DIY - electrical (even though I have built my own PC), I'm a bit lost as to how to connect the cable to the IR unit. Are we talking soldering? I do have one but never used it, lol. But that should be easy enough. But not sure about the following:

the last one shows how to connect the various pins on the IR module to the various 'bands' on the TRS male plug. you cannot assume that manufacturers followed any standard ;( usually, tip is left, ring is right and sleeve is ground. use a continuity or ohm-meter to 'ring out' which wire in your cable goes to which band on the plug.

Doesn't make sense to me, lol. I probably wouldn't mind paying the bit extra to buy one from the Popcorn site, but I begrudged buying a new PSU recently and I just want one ASAP. Want to play with my new toy.

:-)

Hi again guys. Hope someone can help me with this. Maplin is a big electrical outlet here in the UK but I can't really find what I need. Unless this is it:

Any ideas please?

Can't you just use one of these & save the fuss: http://www.amazon.com/STICK-ON-IR-EMITTE...ir+emitter
I would really like to know as the local Target are cutting out the Harmony 700 at $20 off & if this will work I will pick one up, as is my RF remote died much like this one: http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showth...#pid558965 & all I can presently use is the clunky web interface.
