Is the MP3 issue ever going to be fixed? My A-100 is useless for playing music. It seems like a memory leak issue. The weird thing is that when playing MP3s the album art will go in and out of focus on my TV.

Same here. After doing the upgrade, remote just stops working after a while. Two things I noticed:

1. I can get the remote to work if I put it right in front of the IR receiver.

2. If I wait for the HD to spin down, everything is fine.

I had a very old firmware on the machine, 2009 I think that was working fine. Now I just need to remember what version is was.

You probbably didn't read the first post very well if you had a very old firmware before?

A110 needs new firmware/software updete for current XVID codec support. It now fails to play most of the current xvid coded files. Since june 2011.

i have an A100 and as mtv and Mike06 i am experiencing problems with sound in videos and have to rencode them to have sound. when is the new firmware expected?

Have had an A-100 for ages. Buggy as hell, but works, now it is starting to really have issues with simple xvid/divx and some mkv files.. Sometimes it cannot play the audio stream even if it is in normal Stereo (verified via VLC). Sadly NMT's sigma chips are horribly outdated now :-(. Seems like an XTREAMER is my next media box..

Pro NMT box:
short rollout between firmwares
active forum
good help

con NMT box:
out dated
features are lacking compared to opposition.
pricy for what you get
Old models are phased out quickly.


Been a good ride.. Time to find another..

I would not say phased out quickly the 2007-2011 seems like a pretty good run for technology these days. out lived all the competition.

The audio you speak of is not so normal stereo audio. its poorly encoded files hence a remux to a standard vbr fixes them.

Also take note to research xtreamer long and hard on mpcclub and avsforum. xtreamer is currently #1 on mpc do not buy list. Good luck in your next purchased and make sure to do lots of research so you dont get burned.

Aye.. I was waiting for the 300 series to have HDMI 1.4 and propper HD.. was sorely disappointed.. And still the C200 is ~300€ .. Perhaps I'll wait for the 400 series.. but as the A-100 I have is dying, I need a replacement..

Thanx for the tip.. I was reasearching the xtreamer ultra but it was brand new so I'll wait for feedback.. 3D is a must of a sort.. either that or keep the A100 and get a 3D bluray player for the scarce few titles out there..

You are better off getting a 3d bluray player right now. The sigma 8910 which is the only sigma chip to offer full 3d iso is vaporware right now supposed to come out nov of 11 now they are saying q2 of 2012 but looking more like end of 2012.

The realtek and ARM players with 3d playback have gotten horrible reviews. a few to look up are the HiMedia HD900B and the Kaiboer K860i that is why people spend the big bucks on the oppo bd93
