ALL in 3 !! (TestCollection, TestJukebox, TestYAMJ/Eversion0160/evZap/Legion)

In order to DEMO the different evzap/legion eskins...

what I've done is make a different settings.xml for EACH of the differrent setups.... then , when you Dbl-Click Start_legion2.cmd I COPY the settings_legion2.xml file over to settings.xml (overwrite it) ..... and then everything is correct for showing the legion2 overlays!

Sooooooo,... if you want to demo the weather for your area on the legion2 eskin,....
1. Edit the settings_legion2.xml file,.... make the correct weather entries .... SAVE the file.
2. Dbl-Click Start_legion2.cmd

Please note that you can't demo the weather stuff on your PC!! , ie, it only works on the Popcorn Hour. so,.. after you've ran the Start_legion2.xml file, exit out on your PC,... then run this configuration on your Popcorn. (Easy to do IF you have the hard drive inside you NMT MAPPED to a Drive letter on your PC!!!

Remember ,when you're demoing the jukebox on your PC,.. the weather doesn't work and the movies don't play.

Over the weekend I'm going to try and make a really nice GUI SKIN SELECTOR program where you can setup all of the variables (for at least my stuff for now) ... take care man,... glad you're makin progress!!

Am using this small library Legion kindly made available, updates in 10 minutes, so easy to make changes, and see if it breaks something.

GUI skin sounds like a fun thing to play with!

Im really learning this stuff, so I can understand the structure of how it works (helps when updating). Definitely getting there, with the exception of the "people" aspect feel 10x more clued up than yesterday.

Crap! I've already reached my bandwidth limit.... Well, I'll pay $70 this time to bump it up., but I've got the funniest feeling that I'm going to have to figure out another way to host these large files,... or go broke!

Wait a few minutes, and the downloads should be back up

hmmm... I have a seedbox over in the netherlands,... I wonder if there's a way to hose the files from it? Anyone know?

Make a torrent if you can with your SB and post it on thepiratebay or somewhere else and post the url here. That should be easy

I can download torrents all day long,... but ... I've never uploaded a torrent or set one up

I'll try and read up on it in the next week... my $70 bought another 1TB of bandwidth, so we're good for awhile anyway!!

Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx4096m
The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size.
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
Press any key to continue...

I do not usually have any issues when running YAMJ/Eversion

Please advise

edit your moviejukebox.bat file and make sure that you have this entered:

ie, -xmx4096m should be -xmx1024m

Thanks Allen. That seems to have done the trick.

Am currently running YAMJ - Has been 4 1/2 hours already and am currently at:

'Processing new person 1540/6035'

I know it would be a while to create a new Jukebox, but it looks like it's gonna take over 10 hours

Hi first thank you great skins. I am having one problem everything set up ok except when I go to NEW I get an error
Problem with file:/other_new_1.xml . I reran the all in one program A few times from scratch with the same error. Is there something I need to chage to fix this Error?

I know it is not related to your package but i'm sure you can help me find out why i have a weird error.

It says Finished: Nika Futterman (3859/4869) nothing move after that..
I rebooted the process, even windows and i still get stuck at the same place. I don't really want to delete the jukebox and start from sratch since it took 2 days to get at this stage.


Any idea ?

1. you're YAMJ is bombing out...
memory errors, out of heap space, etc, etc ... so , depending on how much RAM you have in your machine, you can increase the xmx memory in the java command line.

edit moviejukebox.bat and change xmx to a higher value ... either 1024, 2048, or 4096

or, it could be something wrong with Nika Futterman .. find out what movies in your collection she's in and temp. movie that movie OUT!

OR, INcrease your People Popularity value ... ie from 2 to 4 or 4 to 6, etc...

There's also a lot of versions of java that have memory leaks in them.. Might not be a bad idea to uninstall all java installs and install them new. I also recommend when you find a version that works well, you stop updating until it breaks and you have too. I use a damn old version of java myself.

I can't really recommend a version of java for windows because I run mine on a linux setup

also something to note: lowering the other setting (-Xms256m) will also have java be more agressive at reusing memory. I like a -Xms128m setting
