RE: Eversion 0.2.8.13 for Oversight (CSI Install) (R0167)
Why do all skin use this font? Is it possible to use something else than this (is this something like times new roman)? Or is this the only one available?
thanks |

RE: Eversion 0.2.8.13 for Oversight (CSI Install) (R0167)
I'm not following where you aren't seeing the background.. If you mean the home screen, then I need to see categories.xml because that is where the list on the home screen comes from and something is different in the sets entry from what yamj would put.. remember all teh artwork is named after what yamj calls things, but you can adjust it yourself but it's a lot easier on my if we can match it in this area.

It's the system font that syabas has in the flash client. it's the only system font.. you can compile in other fonts but they run slower, and flashlite is lacking anything to clean the edges so while different doesnt' really mean nicer. Any requests over the last year for what other fonts a skinner may want and help testing other fonts when completely unanswered so I stopped caring about it also since system font is faster.. Actually about 10% of all speed loss in syabas apps is because they use a flash font instead of compiling their font into a system font. |

@accident, just a basic doubt. How do you view other categories like by Year, Genre in Eversion?.

It was already mentioned in the first post you need to install and run this.. I made it a little more obvious in the setup section with the link to it.

RE: Eversion 0.2.8.13 for Oversight (CSI Install) (R0167)
@accident,
The following is the constraint I found in eversion. when there are 5 pages on the index, while loading on page1, it buffers/loads page 2 and when we move to 2 it loads 3 and works fine. So, all pages were supposed to be stored in cache, and even the images. But when we move to page 5 and move up again, it again requests the xml and loads again and even the images too. I looked into the code and I can able to find the location where it loads the xml's. But still I can't fix it. Can you please let me know is it the limitation of eversion?. It greatly affects the performance. Sriram C200/A400/RPi - Onkyo HT-S3400 - LG 47LV3730 |

RE: Eversion 0.2.8.13 for Oversight (CSI Install) (R0167)
There's 2 situations where it would do what your describing and it's hard to tell what's reloading from your description. both however are not bugs and 1 is images when running it from a windows device and the other is the memory management to not crash the hardware and run out of memory. Both of these aren't bugs or limitations, you have to do this. Any app based on syabas's grid class also does this except they block load more data and barely load any images and keep reloading them even more aggressive.

RE: Eversion 0.2.8.13 for Oversight (CSI Install) (R0167)
But loading images, may take more memory I agree. But XML?.
For example, if you have Other_All_1.xml to Other_All_5.xml, it loads when you browse from 1 to 5. But when you move up, it should load from the memory, but it again loads from disk which makes it slow. When I enable the trace in eversion code, the images are keep on loading when moving from one movie to another on the same page, eventhough they were already loaded. I found lot of requests for the images. Sriram C200/A400/RPi - Onkyo HT-S3400 - LG 47LV3730 |

I found lot of requests for the images. I already said if your running it in windows, it's going to reload the images a lot. That's normal from windows behavior with how it checks if it needs to load the image and the differences of / vs \ paths.. You can use the hidden undocumented wintesting setting set to true to stop that behavior BUT if you forget to remove that setting later it will cause the pch to nonstop reload the images and that's much slower. Quote:But loading images, may take more memory I agree. But XML?. A small library of only movies could get away with it higher and there are prefetch settings to up the number it'll cache so you can tune it to your needs. Eversion defaults are so any size library will work the first time you try it. Quote:For example, if you have Other_All_1.xml to Other_All_5.xml, it loads when you browse from 1 to 5. Real life data shows the largest index file which has only 15 tv shows in it (the normal yamj xml size default for eversion for the tv index) as 2.9MB per xml file if you have fanart.tv artwork + people enabled (again in yamj).. *5 files from your example and that's 14.8MB of memory to hold just those 5 files.. now if you look at my household library, there is 194 all index files and 54 tv show index files.. do the math, your not holding that in memory.. Quote:But when you move up, it should load from the memory, but it again loads from disk which makes it slow. It's better than crashing and not able to use it at all.. you'll gain about 50% more speed by lowering the xml files from 27 titles to 18-20 and no additional changes. tv shows should be lower if you support that right around 15 per xml file. |
