Media sources I don't need
Media sources I need are 01 and 10 in this list.
Why I see 02 to 09 i dont want to :?: I even don't know what are these sources about. Sometimes they appear, then disappear.
Does anybody else experience something similar?

are you running a home network (ORB) with various PC connected?

source 3 its media sharing in WMP11 or vista judging from the icon.

i can't make up the rest... looks like services with upnp is turn on and a-100 auto detects ALL of them...

this is a feature that most people wants.. haha

i bet your PC are named Artraf and URA?

and it should have different user login account judging from the different sources detected..

well, you cant remove the source except for disabling at the PC end.

no. one is shadowforce the other is skid, each pc has only one account. and WMP share is turned off on both.
but one thing i'm thinking of now is that you mentioned services with upnp turned on.
my router has upnp option turned on, maybe this is why ... :?:

#3 and 7 are WMP11 shares that the PCH is not authorized to use. #2, 4, 5, 8 and 9 look like machines running Orb. #6 looks like a bittorrent software called Azureus. If these are not your pcs then I would look at who else in on your network. Do you have wireless on your router? Maybe someone else "borrowing" some bandwith from you?

Autodetecting is a nice feature, but I agree with the OP. Not all connections that are detected are useful, in fact most are not.

Feature Request: It would be nice to have a screen where we can select specific auto-detected network elements to not be viewed on the main menu.

Feature Request: It would also be nice if we can define our wake-up screen. I.e., I am not interested in using the device for playback of mp3 or pictures. I really want to use for movies. If the system would "wake-up" on the screen where I can simply select from a list of movies on my server, I would be happier. Multiple menues are difficult for the family to navigate and would be nice to have configure as an easy movie jukebox.

agree.
but for now maybe there is another way to do it? for instance firewall settings of my router blocking PCH from internet access (for PCH i need only my home network, i dont use it for web surfing)
connection to what port should i allow/deny. any suggestions?

i have wireless but it is password encrypted. so as i said there are only two pc's in my home network, all other shares in this list are from outside.

If these shares are not from your pcs then I would check your router and see who's attached to it or how it's configured. You shouldn't be seeing machines that are not "on" your network or that are "outside" your network. I have over 8 pcs on my network and don't have that many sources in my list.

well and this is my problem! i know i should not see shares outside my network but i see them!
my router has 4 cables connected to it
1 - ISP cable
2,3 - my pc's
4 - PCH
this is my home network. i checked status of router and can see only my machines in LAN.

You could try disconnecting your router from the net for a test to see if the shares disappear. If they do, your router is misconfigured in some way. If the don't, then I don't know......

You could also try pinging the names listed. I would try the name of #6 first and see what ip address it returns. You can then see if they match any of your equipments addresses.

How is your internet connection provided?

In some early Cable TV internet set-ups it was possible to see other subscribers networks if they were connected to the same cable head-end in your street.

If you have wireless are you using WPA or WEP encryption? WEP is hacked wide open and wouldn't stop someone who wanted to using your network.
