A100 Cannot access int HD from windows..what is the procedure to start in slave mode?
New int HD (Seagate)
Formatted to ext3 Works wonderfully in normal PCH mode. Installed ext2ifs rebooted computer. Started ext2ifs Started PCH, waited to fully boot Plugged into USB XP does nothing. Plugging/unplugging usb does nothing. Questions: 1) does the CS/Slave/Master jumper on HD matter? 2) what is the correct order of operations to connect and start PCH in slave usb mode? I've seen different things on the forums. (i.e. do I plug in only during suspended mode? 3) any other hints? HELP! |

RE: A100 Cannot access int HD from windows..what is the procedure to start in slave mode?
Update #1:
1) Moved the (PCH formatted) HD into an external HD enclosure (USB, IDE), removed master/slave jumper and tried accessing it with EXT2IFS. Nothing 2) Installed ext2fsd and tried it instead of ext2ifs. Windows now assigned a drive letter but did not have any usable space. 3) in ext2fsd turned on "automatically mount via ext2mgr" and it now would see the three partitions and see usable space 4) now moving media files to the drive. Will insert hd back into popcorn hour and see if it is recognised by ext2fsd .... |

RE: A100 Cannot access int HD from windows..what is the procedure to start in slave mode?
Only the A110 can be connected directly to a PC, the A100 does NOT have a USB slave facility.
Follow the instructions within this guide, remember to flush the cache or your files wont be there afterwards! http://www.mpcclub.com/modules/Club_Area...n_Hour.pdf A400: SSD+SD Card(Apps), HDMI A300: USB(Apps), HDMI C200: USB(Apps), BD SH-B083L(SB01), HDMI CAT6 Wired Network: TV TX-P42G20, HP ProCurve 1400-8G, Netgear GS-608/605, Synology CS407 |

RE: A100 Cannot access int HD from windows..what is the procedure to start in slave mode?
Thanks,
Shouldn't this document be noted in the wiki. Better yet, shouldn't the "no slave mode" be noted somewhere. If I knew that I would have went with a 300MB external 2.5 rather than an internal. Damn... Anyone want a new 500GB Seagate IDE (5 yr warantee) |
