LCARS Theme now with moviejukebox plugin

*** I have updated the myiHome version of this skin to use the moviejukebox plugin that has been added to that server. The files have been added to the main archive to include both standard and plugin versions. For those who don't want to download the whole mess there is a separate link to the updated version only.***

I had a request from user HeartWare for an LCARS skin (Library Computer Access/Retrieval System), the name of the operating system used on Star Trek Computers. So thanks to HeartWare for the idea. There are two skins, one for the internal hard drive, one for myiHome. In the myiHome theme note that there are two background pics available. The default one uses the more traditional LCARS color scheme, the other is a more colorful variation. If you decide to try the colorful variation, just rename the bgcolors.jpg to bg.jpg. You may also notice a bg2.jpg pic in the background folder, please leave that alone as it is necessary for the secondary menu screens.

Wow, awesome! Great job!

Then I finally got it installed, and it looks great. Only problem is that my TV's overscan in the sides are cutting off the vertical lines. I'll try to see if I can move those lines more in towards the center. If I succeed, I'll upload the altered version for those other people with a similar problem.

Glad you like them HeartWare, it was a fine suggestion.

Yeah, that overscan issue is a pain. I design my skins with some margin of error but as you know there are a lot of different sets out there. Thanks for modding the pics. If you have any problems let me know and I can help out. I would also be glad to add the mods to the archive or put them separately on my server.

I just installed this today after having to put on hold for a few days.
So far the PCH theme is fine and I'll be using it starting today.
As for the myiHome theme, it removed my moviejukebox as it says it's not compatible so I had to remove the theme. I'll surely try it once it's been made compatible.

Hey Dan,

Thanks, this one was pretty fun to do. On the myiHome version I used two background pics. One for the main menu and another for the file selector background screen. This was to make the menu easier to read. Just hope that it's not hogging too much memory as that can cause real trouble. So far it's worked okay on my system.

Looks like I have some work to do. None of my custom themes will work with the new myiHome plug-in until I make some major changes. I'm glad you brought this to my attention, I have been out of town and didn't even know about the new addition to myiHome. It's sure is a great addition and one that I will be supporting. It doesn't look too complicated, just a lot of busy work. I'll be updating this skin in next week or two.

Missed the second part of your question. Yes, I plan to mod some of my themes for start.cgi/index.html. I had started to write my own version of this when you mentioned the thread about it to me. I'm pretty rusty at code these days (and I not that good anyway) so this is really great for me. I like the design freedom that index.html provides. Thanks for the heads-up on that.

Moviejukebox plugin support has been added to the myiHome version of this theme. This is really a great addition for myiHome and my thanks to their team for adding the plugin option. Very nice. Remember to follow the directions in the myiHome instructions manual. If you do not have this PDF there is a link to it below.

You obviously like it. Why not use the PH for evrything? Not critisizing,
havent tried it and I would like to hear about it and movie jukebox.
